Mercedes really did design a winner and with a spiffy interior too!

The truth, there is nothing exciting about this C class. The front from a distance looks like the old IS300, the back side looks like the old Civic, the huge side mirrors are just out of proportion. I think the designer that came up with this shape had a really bad day, and the ones that approved it had even worst day. There is nothing in this car that's pulling me to it.

The car was designed based on some retro styling cues of the W201 190-Klasse and W202 C-Klasse. It borrowed nothing from Lexus or Audi.

this car is gorgeous. however i do have to say the interior only looks good in beige and with wood trim. in black and with aluminum it looks cheap.

Kalimba,

I am currently equipped with the new W204 C220 CDI Avantgarde and the interior with brushed aluminum is particularly striking. It has a very sporty appearance to it and the reason for the darker colors and aluminum are solely because it appeals to enthusiastic drivers seeking something sporty.

Im not a fan of aluminum in cars. Personally i think its tacky. Id like to see the the gray interior with the wood package. The tan is too orange for my tastes. Otherwise I think the car is nice.

From looks alone, this car is not gonna take any sales away from BMW or Lexus. Its a nice car overall, but it just looks like it lacks something. Its not visually striking as the Lexus IS or BMW 3 Series coupe...(the 3 Series sedan is ugly).

I disagree. There are plenty of "daddy's girls" around who would want a lipstick red C-Class because of the huge badge on the grille.

Formula 1,
I noticed how you didn't say anything about BMW, but just Lexus. Stop criticizing Lexus ...and go drive your Buick Lesabre.

Not a fan of red on cars unless it happens to be on a Ferrari but WOW, the one in red is not bad. Not bad at all!

I wouldn't be surprised either if White will be the popular color. I'm sure the car will wear that color well too.

These pictures are much better than the last set taken of the red car. I LOVE the white sport. This car has the most beautiful and elegant exterior in its class. Cant wait to test drive it.

This car looks fantastic, and the beige interior is very impressive.

I especially love the CLS-esque side profile (main pic) and the chiseled, elegant front end with its short overhang.

Mercedes has a home-run with this car, despite those that think otherwise.

A brilliant car, and the car I would buy if I were in the market. I really like how they used retro styling cues.

The European model doesnt have them and it looks cleaner. Hey Ricemaster, U think Mercedes should clear white that orange reflector?

Oh please Shmuk. Just because its understated doesnt mean its cheap. From what I have read all the reviews give the interior quality top grade. Have u been living under a lexus rock?

The black one with the normal grille and hood star looks good. It looks like a baby S-Class.

So basically, with the screen down, you cannot see what is playing on the radio except on the driver's information display.
I'm surprised that there is not even a small screen on the dash for the radio.
The steering wheel is still as ugly as ever...what went wrong there??
The back seat does not seem big at all; I'm surprised.
Elegant car for sure, but the interior will seem outdated quite quickly.
And why, oh why do they still have the locks on the doors sticking out??? This is the 21st century!
No wonder these cars are stolen in Europe..

Yes overall the car is not bad, but I agree with others where its just "off". There is something disproportionate about the car. The front end and interior are pretty good but the back is so bland and looks like any nice japanese car.

Love the pictures of Oregon! Yes I'm biased since I'm from Portland but the pics of the Mt. Hood area are beautiful. Too bad there weren't more pics of downtown Portland and the river. Nothing beats the weather in a Portland summer.
