I have just gotten an embargoed press release(I work in the news biz) naming the 2008 Cadillac CTS the Motor Trend car of the year. The release is embargoed until 12:01a Eastern on November 20, 2007-- but I thought you might like to know. As the proud owner of an '08 CTS DI I could not be happier.

Great news for Cadillac but we at the Spies are always skeptical of these type of awards from the major outlets because they rely so heavily on their ads...and Cadillac just ran a HUGE campaign with them.

So let us ask you the question...Does the new CTS DESERVE the car of the year award or is the fix in and this one of the best awards money can buy?

In my opinion, the CTS is better than almost everything on the list but it's hard to believe it could beat the A5/S5.
