Spotted: Audi’s V-10 RS6 Undisguised!
While prototypes of Audi’s forthcoming RS6 have been spotted before, these are the first shots we’ve seen where the super saloon is essentially free of disguise, giving our spy shooters at KGP their best crack yet at solid images.

On this particular mule, the LED light strips in the front bumper have been removed, a somewhat curious deletion. However, the fascia resident air intakes have been enlarged and look somewhat R8-esque with their horizontal strakes.

My only thing is that the LED strips on the S6 are removed. I know it's because they need the extra air intake - but I've seen several S6's on the road in the daytime - and those LED's make it look mean and aggressive - but also give it a stylish look. Oh well.

According to the article, the LED strips were removed from this mule, but they will probably make it to production. I hope so. If they took them off to save space, why didn't they just make the intakes larger and stick the LEDs on top?

S4 - remember that the RS cars tend to have very large intakes (especially if this is going to have turbos) to produce more power in the car. That might make the face too crowded if the keep the LED's. That said - I hope they find a way - because to me the S6 is currently the best looking car in the segment.

Okay well, if I end up with an RS6, the lack of LED driving lights will be the farthest thing from my mind.

still needs to get the RS4 body but you can see it is the RS6

Perfect timing because the EOP for the RS4 is close

If you're going to keep doing this, nobody is going to take you seriously. I hate "amazinBimmer" and "formula1" just as much as you do.

NICE! The interior looks great- the piano black trim on the center console is a huge improvement.

Yes I totally agree, it looks awesome!

Actually one could get that option via Audi Exclusive for about 3 years :p

nice interior finish. good choice of rims too.

Those rims aren't the official ones. Those are just BBS CH testing rims.

But yeah, they do look good on the car.

Boring inside out. How old is that interior design? Must come from 1980s.

That digital clock found in all Lexus and Toyota models really is from the '80s

Actually, it's not. And I feel inclined to agree with SupraNeverBack. This is the same Audi interior design that we've seen over and over and over again. The dials/instrument clusters are the same ones found throughout VAG. It's the same one from Volkswagen all the way to Bentley and Lamborghini. I don't doubt the interior quality, but the actual layouts of Audi interiors I have personally had a small gripe about for a very long time now.

This car will be very hot, but I doubt it's supercharged! As far as I know, Audi has never supercharged any of its vehicles, and why would they start now? Turbocharging is their specialty.

Love the darker tail lamps and those rims.

It will have turbos. I've watched every single spyvid of the RS6 and nowhere I can hear the supercharged whining.

Ok, I submitted an article about the RS6's horsepower rating.

I dont understand that it should be nessescary to turbocharge a 5.2L V10 ???? it should turn out around 500 HP natural aspirated....and have plenty of torque

Well.. the RS cars from Audi always had a tradition of turbocharging. But since they sold Cosworth the RS4 has become high-revving N/A. Much like the BMW M-division.

twin-turbo give a lot more torque and therefore acceleration grunt. Also it has an automatic that still likes to eat torque. So no, an atmospheric V10 with 500+ horsepower is out of the question. Also with high-revving engines the torque peaks later.

Why not, alfisti? With turbocharging, the RS6 will be pushed ahead of both of the other cars in this class.

truecarlovertruecarlover - 6/18/2007 2:57:14 PM
+2 BoostDrop the Boost Up the Boost
alifisti - personally I like normally aspirated engines - but in order for them to make big enough torque they either have to add turbos or significantly increase the capacity of the engine (like the 6.3L V8 AMG is now using). I read during an analysis of their current generation engines that because of the architecture - the current generation cars would be too front heavy if they increase displacement.

It is a very good looking car but still nowhere near the aggressive and composure the Audi RS4 has.

Me. I'm going to look at both of them, and I'll probably end up with the MORE EXPENSIVE RS6. The M5 just doesn't cut it compared to this.

If you know ANYTHING about Audi, you know that on all of their S/RS models, quattro AWD is the only available drivetrain. And the RS6, which will remain the most powerful sedan in their lineup, needs it the most.
