Spy Shots: 2009 Mazda6
When the Mazda 6 came out in 2003 it had the best driving dynamics in its class, but four years later there's more power and more size everywhere else in the segment. We got our first glimmer of hope for a new 6 last summer when we tipped you off to some photos of a Mazda 6 test mule and now it seems we've stepped up to a fully-camouflaged prototype.

I'm thinking we'll get CX-9ish taillights.

Let me dumb down what is being said here just a bit. For those who don't want a sporty sedan, get an Accord or a Camry, though there are sporty versions available for purchase, if that is up your alley.

For those of you that are curious of what else is out there, above is some info on the 2009 model Mazda 6.

i disagree. the mazda6 fills an important niche in the market. it's slightly smaller and much sportier than the camry, accord, or any other mid-size family sedan. for those that consider the camry or accord too bland or boring for their tests, the mazda6 is really a no-brainer. there really is no direct competition to it right now with the exception of the new altima possibly.

Mazda needs a larger 4dr, 300hp "Mazda 9" to top the range out & get back in the game.
