Spy Shots: 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-class
Mercedes’ next E-class has again been spotted in testing but as always the car was masked in heavy camouflage. Despite the covers, these close-up shots reveal many new details about the car and also give us a glimpse of the new interior. The car’s profile and character lines are lifted from the larger S-class but there’s also a hint of the CLS in the new model’s swoopy waistline.

Looks like a Lexus GS except much cheaper and with poorer build quality and a cheaper interior too.

I guarantee you this new E-class will surpass the Lexus GS for quality: http://www.whatcar.com/news-article.aspx?NA=218083

Of course this will surpass the current Lexus GS. Its pretty much all new. As far as the GS goes, only a 4.6l V8 is new, until its next update or redesign.

Respect my opinion. I am respected amongst the Lexus community for my unbiased posts and insights. Just speaking my mind and I think I am correct here. Benz is out of ideas so they copy Lexus. The E class always gets credit for the 4 eyed look when in reality Benz copied the original Lexus SC300/SC400 for that. Lexus has been kind and has not sued. Imagine if they did.

43LE I am offended that you think I am a fan of low quality products like German cars. I am a Lexus fan all the way hence I support this brand. And I am also quoting you in several cases. Lexus fans stick together bro!

Lexus has always copied the Germans.
Starting from the day they were concieved.
Although nowadays they do copy BMW.

david989, you are comparing apples to oranges, i.e. comparing the GS to the current E instead of the future E mentioned in the article. Your styling comment is both frivolous and gratuitous. If anything, you should be comparing the upcoming E to the current S to see just how many S features and styling cues have migrated down the Mercedes luxury chain.

I like the shape...not too boxy like the C, not too sleek like the S, just in middle.

E-Class has always been a staple for the brand, moreso even than the S-Class for its affordability, relatively. They wont screw this up.

I think that the 2008 C is a better value now than the Current E so the E update is very timely. One thing that Mercedes could do to get me away from Audi is to make the S-class front seats with fully independent seat cushion length adjustment standard for all models. Also, Mercedes needs to stop charging extra for C-class paint.
