Spy Shots: Ferrari Dino Hardtop Convertible
Despite repeated denials by Ferrari chairman, Luca di Montezemolo, our friends over at the CarMagazine say they can confirm that Ferrari is in fact building the Ferrari Dino based on the F149.
According to these latest spy shots, you can see that the Ferrari Dino will be much smaller than the F430 and the 612 Scaglietti. Also if you look closely you can see a two-piece folding hardtop.
Our Take: If Ferrari’s chairman says it’s not worth it for them to build a smaller and cheaper Ferrari, the probably aren’t. However...

What reason would there be to buy this over a fully loaded Corvette (Z02/ZR1) other than the fact that it has a prancing horse on its hood and an astronomical price?
Maybe I've just matured enough not to need ridiculously ostentatious symbols of wealth to make myself feel successful, or maybe it's just I've lived in Vegas too long, where these things are far too common, and therefore not very special any longer...

it's a status symbol, same reason why people buy Louis Vuitton wallet for 1000 bucks, its not like the leather is worht 1000 or it does anything, at least the with a ferrari you got design, performance, the inside uses expensive material too, racing heritage, plus teh vehichle is hand made..

You buy it b/c you can afford it and admire exquisite detail and craftsmanship.I currently work in Manhattan, and my work involves finance for a firm, but 16 months ago i purchased a 05' 575m GTC. I have only driven it a hand full of times, and use it as a business tool, to take potential clients golfing or to lunch. When they see your successful they are going to want to put there dollar on you. When im not working i drive my 88 m3 that iv had since i grew up in VT, im just emotionally attached to that car though...

Why NOT?
If I had $200K to blow off, I wouldn't even consider any Vette. It would be down to the F430, DB9 and R8. And I would probably end up with the Ferrari!
There's a special satisfaction you get driving a Ferrari... it's beyond words. You don't buy a car like that for the badge. You buy it because you need it. DaHarder, you are simply denying yourself the privilege of wanting this car, because you probably can't afford it.

Resale value.
Think of buying a Ferrari more like buy a piece of art than a car.

Well then I guess the Mk4 Toyota Supra must have been a masterpiece, because far too many Ferrari's penned in the last 12 years have certainly been variations on that styling theme...
To each their own.
