I hooked up my accelerator to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

Spy Shots: MINI SUV (Colorado) Spotted
Our friends over at CarMagazine spotted this MINI SUV, dubbed as Colorado so far, going under some regular day-to-day testing. So far what we know about the MINI Colorado is that it won’t have the off-roading qualities of the traditional SUVs. Instead, the car will cater to those shopping in the crossover segment.

MINI is expected to have a special focus on the U.S. market where crossover sales have been pretty strong.

BMW will be outsourcing production of the vehicles to Magna International. The MINI Colorado is expected to hit the roads around 2010 with 80,000 units planned annually.

its completely stupid...a mini should be where it is right now. no clubman, colorado, etc

an even faster engine and an update on desgin and it will be a seller as it is now. this vehicle is just stupid!

The Clubman is brilliant and it has the heritage to back it up. Well actually they should have called it the Traveller or Countryman but since BMW only bought the rights on the names Cooper, Cooper S and Clubman it's not possible.

It does not look like an SUV -- it looks like a station wagon. My wife wants a small SUV (with roof rails) and there is no way she will want this one. Mini need to make it taller and a little shorter.

To increase sales, Mini needs a few more dealers. It is a minimum of a 3 hour drive to a mini dealer for me. In fact there are mini dealers ~3 hours to my north, east and south. This is the main reason I have not considered purchasing one.

This just looks like a Clubman raised two inches, so it had better not be the production model.

Anyway, it's not a good idea. Why NOW? What is the point of this vehicle? What, if anything, will it compete against?
