I hooked up my accelerator to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

Spy Video: Next-Generation Acura NSX at the Nurburgring
From this spy video shot by AutoCar, this may seem like a tuned Honda S2000. When in fact this is Honda’s next-generation Acura NSX hitting up the Nurburgring for some high-speed testing. Why is this test mule wearing the Honda S2000 body?

Well that’s because Acura engineers have completely ripped the whole Advanced Sports Car Concept script, which the NSX was supposed to be based on, and have decided to start from scratch since top Honda management isn’t happy with where the car is headed.

Sure...

I'll believe that this is the next (if there'll even be one) NS-X when it hits the dealer showroom.

Until then Honda can just Piss Off!

you really think so? i would opt for the lightweight sportscar over the heavy sedan-based awd car myself. i think the gt-r is great. but i think the nsx is amazing still.

The last gen. Toyota Supra was the best Jap car, IMO.....I don't care how much of a critic anyone might be. Once you sit inside of the Supra Twin Turbo, and take a drive, you'll have changed your tune a little bit.

And I'm not referring to those retarded ricer Supra's with the supposed "1,000 hp", and Walmart spoilers.

tokyo motor show is oct. 24. i dont think honda is that quick to design and manufacture a new body. the only way for this car to beat the gtr is to be cheaper. but with a v10, i doubt it. honda should be gunning this against the lf-a and make it a luxo sports car.

it can't beat the gt-r by being more agile and light?

I'm sure this car is going to beat out the GT-R pretty easily. Considering it has a 100 more hp, while being lighter. Around the corners, no one in Japan can beat out Honda, look at the NSX, S2000, even today nothing hailing from Japan can out corner those two. Keep in mind this is a very early test mule, the GT-R didn't post great times when it first started testing either. This car is aimed at the LF-A, 100% sure its going to start at 6 figures. The GT-R is not even its real competitor.

No, I think Acura needs a strong V8-powered flagship.

Acura needs a competitive car against the BMW 3er, not a 100k super car that they sell 20 a year of. Waist of time and money.

Honda/Acura should just produce the HSC Concept with a V10, and stop bullshitting around.

This just the S2000, or maybe S2400 or something like that. I doubt we'll see anything about the real NSX until 2 years.

That video is old...as in early this past summer, so Honda could have something ready for the Tokyo show. Agreed, though, why Honda dumped the HSC for the ASCC is beyond me, especially since they are back at the drawing board again because of the weak response to the ASCC. Someone over at Honda/Acura needs a beat down because they can and have made some great cars, but can't seem to get their chit together with the NSX replacement.

The NSX should NOT be a V10 luxo sports car. It should be the R8's direct competitor- sexy styling, a well-sorted chassis, luxurious interior, everyday drivability AND incredible performance.
