Spy photos: Aston Martin Rapide
After Aston Martin was bought from Ford the new owners confirmed the fact that the Rapide Concept will be build. Well folks that wasn’t a joke! Spy photos of the new 4-door coupe from the British manufacturer begin to appear and this means that the days until we will see the Aston Martin Rapide on the streets are begining to be numbered.
The Aston Martin Rapide is a four-door, high performance coupé of remarkable grace and poise. Based on Aston Martin’s unique VH (Vertical/Horizontal) architecture, the Rapide combines the company’s commitment to power, beauty and soul with space and practicality for every eventuality.

I think they sort of misunderstood the concept of camouflage overthere at Aston... But hey, you won't here me complaining that they are not going to unveil the car sq.inch by sq.inch. This gives us a much better idea of what the car will look like... And apparantly, it is going to look ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! BEAUTIFUL!

How could they?
Everything they make is just a 'slight' variation on essentially the same design theme...

Yes. The mid 70s Lagonda. It was awful. Looked like something out of a bad 70s Sci Fi show.

The Lagonda make not seem very appealing by today's standards, but seeing it at auto shows back when it was new, was quite thrilling!

I love the Lagonda! Awful car, but I think it looks so cool.

The Lagonda was über-cool! I wouldn't go anywhere near one, but it was just soooo cool! More electronics than any other car of it's day (extremely dodgy electronics though)

Digital dashboard about 30 years before everyone else..
And I have only ever seen one in real life...I loved it. Huge car though, about the size of an American barge, but tiny inside.

I think they should spend a little more $$ on Camo. I like the small red extension on rear tail light. Why bother??? lol Aston Martin is still very nice. Hope Ford decides to keep the brand.

Huh? Prodrive already owns Aston.

No they don't. The owner of Prodrive and other investors own Aston. Prodrive has no financial stake in Aston.
And Ford still owns about 10%.

this is the new only sedan that can be honestly be called a 4 door coupe it looks just like a db9 with an extra set of doors and i imagine thats what it is. its not a wannabe its the real thing of this type of sedan, and the only one

The Lagonda was is still is avery distinctive looking car! The Rapide is what it looks like, a 4door DB9 and this is not necessarily a bad thing. I just don't think it is as unique looking as the Lagonda. When you see a Lagonda, whether you like it or not, you just have to look at it. It was a very polarizing design.

Are you saying you don't have to look at this car?
I think that when a Rapide glides down the road, it will garner more stares than a Porsche Panamera and Mercedes-Benz CLS combined.

Seriously, do you only go here to post negative comments about all cars but Jags? It's embarrassing to real Jaguar fans.

The Jaguar XF-R is a joke it dosen't look like a coupe at all! The CLS is in my opinion the best looking "4-Door coupe" on the road, it looks sleek, sexy, and sporty. The high lines of the car and the short windows of the CLS make it a beautiful head turner!

Now that's how you build a four door "coupe"! Absolutely beautiful! Too bad it'll take about $400K US to buy one and then you'll only get to visit it every once in a while at the dealership. Can you imagine how long the eternal back order will be for parts on this thing?
