Spy shots of the Mercedes SLK with a panoramic glass roof
Spies have caught a prototype SLK with a test panoramic glass roof, this is being readied for the launch of the next generation Mercedes-Benz SLK. The panoramic glass roof is similar to that available on the SL, and apparently it’s quite popular on the top-spec SL model. Expect the cost to be around £1400. Read Article

Lexus has never had a proper coupe in their lineup to go head to head even though they've had many opportunities to do so. Like bulldogz they could have based off an MR2 and rebadge it as a Lexus with different body styling and interior design as a cost-effective way to get into this segment. Since they were rebadging the Soarer into an SC I don't see why they couldn't do it with an MR2 platform. Just food for thought.

A mid engined, relatively affordable sports car from Lexus would certainly boost their image, but of course the MR2 had no boot at all, so no storage space.
