One of the best looking cars in the history of automobile design.
Was this car designed at the Pasadena Art Center College of Design :-?

Which fits this SPORTS car perfectly. Get the Lexus 8 speed slushbox crap out of your mind. This car WILL be incredible to drive.

The thing has 1,000 NM of torque. You need an auto otherwise one wrong gear shift and you could probably snap the axle in half. Don't forget that the torque is actually electronically limited due to possible stress on the tranny.

XeroKool, Lexus has an 8 speed automatic which is more advanced than this outdated 5 speed. 5 speeds were like so 1980s.

With all that torque available, there is absolutely no need for more than a 5-speed transmission.

Is this their response to the Lexus LF-A? I thought that's what the SLR is for?

Response? To a car that isn't even out yet? You do know the regular SL65 has been out for some years now?

Ha, the LF-A... it's the only car that spent it's entire product life cycle on the autoshow circuit. I'm guessing Lexus will soon be releasing an all new LA-F to go on sale (I mean, on display) for the 2010 model year.

Everyone with half a brain knows by now the LF-A is a marketing stunt and pr propaganda from Lexus.

Lexus is the natural rival to any MB product. Always has since the late 1980s.

cause they've perfected it. the last model year is often the best of a generation.

Just another overweight bloated monster. I don't think any of the MB Black series got good reviews against their peers.

- I expect nothing but top notch straight line power with satisfactory handling. I expect it to also be like the CLK AMG 63 Black Series. That car was superb but it's bigger brother will be even more of a beast setting another benchmark in the luxury GT class.

My god, what the F is up with all these Lexus fanboys here on Autospies. I am pretty sure that it is all spam.
Anyway, just like all the previous cars, this should be great. All I can hope is that they turn away from the standard Merc handling, and make it a real dream to drive, which, I believe, will be the case.
