A press released by BMW in 2008 stated that out of a total of 14,589 M3 models 16% where M3 Convertibles and 12% M3 Sedans.

This just goes to show you that the new M4 coupe has some really big shoes to fill. This prototype was spotted recently on German roads, hidden under plenty of camouflage.

Even though most of the body is hidden, we can still tell it's an M4 because the bonnet has a bulge in the bonnet, signaling its impressive power.

Rather than going toe to toe with the C63 AMG in terms of power, BMW has decided to go a completely different route. The new M4 coupe is supposed to be much lighter than the E92 M3 Coupe, reportedly targeting the weight of the old E46 M3.

All new M cars in the mast few years have been launched with only slight power increases, but better economy. This is also going to be the case with this compact coupe. BMW will replace the 4-liter V8 with a new engine called the S55. This displaces 3 liters and produces 422 PS and (415bhp) and about 395 lb-ft of torque (535 Nm) of torque.
