Study Finds Audi Among The Most Popular Employers For Graduating Engineers
Audi has continued to gain in popularity as an employer among students in the engineering sciences. This is the conclusion of a study by the Trendence Institute published today. Coming fourth last year, Audi has climbed to second place in this year’s rankings. Dr. Werner Widuckel, Board Member for Human Resources at AUDI AG, commented, “To a great extent, graduates want to identify with the products of their preferred employer. During the next eight years, we will be extending our product portfolio from the current 22 to 40 models.

And we are the car brand that is enjoying the strongest growth. Factors such as market success and innovative strength, interesting work tasks and individual opportunities for development play an important role in choosing one’s employee.” It is through these factors that Audi is striving to become the most attractive employer. “HR work is thus a major pillar of our corporate strategy. Indeed, only motivated and committed employees ensure company success,” remarked Widuckel. He also noted that an attractive employer stands out on account of turning the company’s success to the employee’s profit. In this year alone, company profit-sharing has allowed employees to benefit from last year’s success to the tune of 3,700 euros on average.

This year the company with the four rings is offering rewarding professional opportunities to a further 600 academics. Audi is thereby increasing the number of new appointments by an additional 150 jobs, responding to the need for engineers in particular. Scientists from economics and humanities fields are also sought.

Head of Personnel Marketing Alfred Quenzler stresses that Audi considers it important that students receive individual support from the very outset, starting with applicant meetings at recruitment fairs, and continuing through to support for trainees as well as masters and doctoral students. A diversity of trainee programmes (see box) allows Audi to offer tailored career-entry opportunities based on the graduates’ qualifications, professional experience and personal preferences. “It is important to us to give young people prospects for the future. Not only do we build fascinating products and offer an attractive and secure working environment with challenging work tasks; we also provide a wealth of development prospects and international opportunities,” commented Quenzler.

What are the parameters of this study? What geographical area are they talking about? What majors? There have to be some boundaries, to say or insinuate that Audi is the largest employer of all new engineers is ludicrous. These are the normal things which MUST be specified for the article to make ANY sense.

Audi wouldn't hire a large proportion of the engineering world based on their degree- they won't be hiring Aeronautical Engineers, Petroleum Engineers, Chemical Engineers, while they will probably want a few Metallurgical and Materials Engineers, and more Mechanical and Electrical Engineers. The latter two are a dime a dozen- you can almost hire two Electrical Engineers for what it takes to buy one Petroleum Engineer.

Now, I have managed to find a similar study for 2006. IT was conduced in the U.S.

Most popular where..."Lockheed Martin Corporation, which knocked aerospace giant Boeing down from the top spot for the first time ever. General Electric came in third, followed by BMW, Walt Disney, Intel, Google and IBM."

The thing though is that it was a simple vote procedure, not where they are going to work- perhaps it is where they would like to work, were they in that field. There aren't enough Aeronautical Engineers to skew the data so, although, if you put the Mechanical and Electrical Engineers in there, perhaps that expains it.

I believe it is a survey of German graduates.

And by "popular" they mean by vote? I.E. it is the basic study of the respectability of the brand to engineers?

I'm not sure but I think this is a study of graduating students from the top schools in Germany or perhaps Europe in general. I doubt that US Colleges and Universities were part of it.

Whomever is de-boosting me is an idiot and knows NOTHING about engineering.

I am not deriding Audi, but if you are going to release a study relase a study with all of the appropriate information so it ast least MAKES !@#$%% SENSE!

So Audi is popular - good for them. Provide me complete information. I LOATHE STUPIDITY!

cdoke actually has an argument. He's not against Audi, as you are. He would say this if it were about BMW, Porsche, Mercedes... even Jaguar. He doesn't seem to be very biased, unlike you.

Man I was irritable yesterday for some reason- sorry about that.

S4 is right, I would say it about any like this independent of the maker it was about. The reporting just isn't quite complete.

amazinBimmer LOL. Hahahaha.... You PROMISE us that Audi is nowhere near the top and that engineering graduates much prefer BMW, Benz and Porsche.

Your degree was probably granted from the International Academy of Fake and Looney Engineers.

What should we believe your promise or a factual article?

Like I said you have no validity to your claims, you post constant lies with no factual evidence to back them up and your just a goofey fanboy with a degree in anti-Audi propaganda.

Audi's surging growth continues unabated at over 9 % annually.

Can you PUHHHLEASE tell me when BMW will grow at over 9% per year??????

Do you honestly think a BMW M3 is the best when it loses to the almighty Audi RS4 TWICE!!!

The only thing you are good at amazinBimmer is posting lies that have no factual proof.

Keep living in your literal fictious world because all your claims are simply lies.

You don't think R8 reflects well on the Audi brand? How wrong you are. It's doing wonders- the car is in super-high demand and they can't build them fast enough. With this many wealthy buyers, they are obviously going to get some A8/S8, Q7, etc buyers on the side. It certainly will help them, as if they're not already seen as the "hip" luxury brand. Most Americans see it as the BMW for smart people, and the R8 gets more attention than any Ferrari or Aston (let alone BMW) on the streets, according to magazines.

And, to shut you up, my current vehicles consist of the Audi S4 Cabriolet, Audi A3 2.0T DSG and my wife's Lexus RX330. My son will be taking the A3, and I'll buy a new winter car to replace it. However, we deal with my wife's car first, and possible replacements are:

Porsche Cayenne S
Mercedes-Benz E350 4Matic Sport
Jaguar XF
Audi A8

For my winter car, I'd look at:

Audi S5 coupe
Audi S6
BMW 335xi coupe
Audi RS4/RS5

And the "summer" car, to replace the S4, which is still a few years off:

Porsche Carrera S Cabriolet
BMW M3 Convertible
Audi S5/RS5 Cabriolet
Jaguar XKR

My plan is to have one of these cars, winter or summer, be an Audi. The other will be (most likely) a BMW or Porsche.

No, what Audi is experiencing is faster growth due to better quality, better service, better performance and better overall automobiles than before.

Audi is not a small company you moron. They are about to outsell Mercedes-benz either this year or next year worldwide in sales.

The new M3 with V8 has already lost to the Audi RS4. Again amazinBimmer you post FALSE CLAIMS.

Audi is not meant and built of people who cannot afford BMW/Benz. Audi owners actually have HIGHER average incomes than their BMW owning counterparts. Again you post FALSE CLAIMS AND LIES.

The Audi A5 is going to be priced higher than the 3-series coupe. The Audi R8 already is more expensive than the BMW M6 coupe or cabriolet.

Didn't you hear about the fact that Audi is going to increase their prices over the next 5 years to match BMWs and increase perception of brand quality. AGAIN YOU POST LIES AND FALSE CLAIMS

It's already happening. Why do you think the R8 is starting at $109K and the A5 starting at low 40s which is more than a BMW 328i coupe. Also, the A5 3.2 V6 will be more expensive than the BMW 335i base.

Why don't you post some more lies amazinLiar....
