First I just would like to say i agree with you, Truckman. Also super cars like Lambos and Ferrari relase about the same amount of carbon as a Hummer with the same not so lofty MPG but where are the critics?

The only thing a gas tax will do is slow down the rate at which the us govt is losing money. High gas prices in the past has proven that people will still drive. Only this time knowing that the only reason that they are higher is due to the govt will only piss people off.

people WILL still drive, just not hummers. i think the $4+/gal. gas during summer '08 may have helped kill hummer.

and i'd rather have some greasy american politician spending the tax dollars than an oil sheik.

if global warming is a conspiracy, it is by far the most elaborate conspiracy ever. to have the entire scientific community - which is infinitely dedicated to finding truth in this world - cooperating with conspirators, theres no arguing against it.

There are many scientists that say global warming is a natural phenomenon.Most of us are not scientists and we have to question who pays the scientists for saying that? I believe that is naturally occurring, just a little faster with the help of industrial pollution mostly, Or is all the small penis Hummer owners fault? lol I would love the H-1 for the record.

how many scientists do you consider many? as a percentage, i'm sure its less than 10%. nobody is paying scientists to say one thing or another (in general). they are paid to do research, and the findings are published.

the scientist's findings are subject to extensive peer review to prevent agendas.

all we really have in this world is science. if we begin to doubt our findings just because it suits our lifestyle, then we are really screwed.

And I'd question who pays the scientists who say it is not real. actually I don't, we already know, just like who paid those doctors who said for decades that smoking doesn't cause cancer, though it was already accepted in the scientific and medical communities that it does

Are you really that stupid ?

Article after Article have shown that the vast majority of Scientists who claim that Global Warming is Man Made are funded by Governments or Organizations who have a vested interest in the "Man-Made" theory.
Governments like it as it allows them to Tax Emmissions. (More Revenue)
Said Organizations look towards different ways to profit from it. (Carbon Offsetting and Trading).

Many Scientists and Labs who did research and found little evidence pointing to the "Man Made" Theory suddenly found their Grants/Funding dried up while those who Kept to the Script had no problems with funding.

I suggest you start thinking logically instead of swallowing the Kool-Aid without hesitation.

I guess the Last Ice Age was ruined by our Ancestors with all their Carbon Emissions.
