Subaru and Toyota’s partnership over the BRZ and GT-86 twins has reportedly been uneasy. With the two in disagreement over the introduction of more body styles, a new report now claims the BRZ may be discontinued as Toyota deepens its ties with BMW.

If you recall, the BRZ and GT-86 are the result of Toyota’s 20 percent stake in Subaru’s parent company Fuji Heavy Industries. Recently, Japan’s number one automaker went to bed with Germany’s BMW in an effort to sire a lineup of new sports cars, including one that will slot above the GT-86.
