Despite numerous rumors have appeared over the years which were announcing a Subaru BRZ STI, the carmaker is denying all of them these days as no such model will be hitting the production line. The announcement has been made by the Subaru Australia boss, Nick Senior, when talking about the BRZ STI with the guys at Motoring.
“The focus has been on growing [Subaru] sales around the world. We are still reasonably small as a manufacturer and resources are limited and have to be targeted”, said Nick Senior.
Importers from around the globe are asking Subaru to build a BRZ STI but the car company will not launch any more STI models beyond the 2015 WRX STI, so the development of the hotter two-door rear-wheel drive sports car in a hotter version has been ruled out.
