Supplier leaks real photo of the next BMW X5?
Edmunds.com is reporting:

Saint-Gobain Autover, a well-established supplier of automotive glass in Europe, features a photo and some details of the second-generation BMW X5 on its Web site ahead of the automaker's official release date.

The site announces the supplier's role in the second-generation BMW X5 (developed under the code name E70).

According to Autover, "The second-generation X5 model will be larger and more versatile, with a seven-seat interior option; it will feature all-new suspension, revised diesel engines and new [gasoline] V8s." Apparently the V8s will be lifted from the 7 Series and available in 4.0-, 5.0- and 5.8-liter versions.

There's only one problem with this story...THE PICTURE IS NOT THE NEW BMW X5! It is an old photoshop. The photo has sinnce been taken down at Edmunds.com but is still running on other sites like Jalopnik.com

Does it seem to anyone else that BMW is constantly delaying the new X5.

This car hasnt been shown ANYWHERE.

No shows, no official info, no street date ??????

What the F*ck is taking BMW so long to release this car.

It came out in.... what 2000.....yet theyve already refreshed the Z4, X3, 7, 5 etc ? ? ?

This makes no sense to me.

I thought those pics released a couple weeks ago showed the car being tested?

BMW is my brand of choice regardless.....but this thing better be good for how long weve waited.

It's a PhotoChop. The front lights are off the current 5 series. BMW knows they are a styling mistake. The next generation 5 will not have them. There is no reason for the X5 to have them.

Honestly speaking I don't feel much for BMW, but I must say the X5 is serious off the hook. Its a shame its time to change it cause I think that BMW are gonna mess it up, its gonna be very hard to improve the next X5, hence the two pictures above. The first one looks like a streched X3 with new rims.

The 5 series aren't that bad. I guess when you have a M5 everything looks sweet. As for the 7 years before complete redesigning that is accurate. Aren't most auto makers 5 years? Then again they took forever to change the GS400/430 model. Getting off topic but that X5 is not real.
