Suzuki Kizashi 3 will hit the U.S. market in 2010
Suzuki surprised us all with Kizashi 3 concept at the 2008 New York Auto Show yesterday. The best looking Kizashi concept out of the 3, the all-new sedan is due for U.S. sale by 2010. Suzuki’s U.S. sales were up 101,884 in 2007 and the new mid-sized sedan will help it take a step towards increasing U.S. sales in the next few years.
“This is no mere exercise in styling; this vehicle is showing you the direction we are going with a future production vehicle,” said Gene Brown, marketing vice president for Suzuki’s U.S. division.
Power will come from...

I agree a little, I also see Audi in the headlights and front while some Infiniti in those tail-lights. Certainly a nice design, hope this works for them.

Excuse my language but...Holy Sh!t
Alright, I'm genuinly surprised!
I don't think anyone saw this coming. Seriously how did Suzuki keep somthing this revolutionary for the company, quiet?
I know this is a concept however with the design structures and cues, somthing very similar could easily make into production.
Wow and I though everyone would only be talking about Hyundai going upscale at this show. Way to go Suzuki.
Honda...take a lesson. This is they way you cars should have looked.
+1 heck + a whole bunch for Suzu.

I have to agree with Spectator on this one!!! What a BEAUTY! If they come out with the car looking like this, then they would really change my mind and others about Suzuki. This would make my head turn when I saw it coming down the road.

Wow! It's beautiful. Is Suzuki a Korean company? It looks production ready, so why wait until 2010? Hopeful they can keep the weight down.

That is a very beautiful concept. I hope it doesn't get diluted down to a just-good-looking production model like the Hyundai Genesis. The Genesis' concept was gorgeous, but then the production version got somewhat diluted. It's still a good looking car, though.

Pretty good, I don't think I'd buy one because the grille make sthe nose disproportionately large, but it's a good overall effort.

Great looking car, except for one feature.
The grill looks like a person walking with his tongue hanging out of his mouth and dragging along the floor.

Mark my words..by the time the production car..if there really is one...is produced..the Suzuki Japanese execs in Japan and here in the U.S. will have this thing so dumbed down and messed up with 16 inch wheels and other horrible product planning decisions, it will not even be recognizable as any relation to this concept...which is too bad because here in the U.S. Suzuki employs a lot of very knowledgeable and intelligent people who are given little if any influence over what needs to happen in this market.

A few points about the Kizashi 3:
1. The concept Kizashi 3 still doesn't have a front bumper. Adding a bumper that, as with other current Suzukis, bisects the grille will help reduce the "tongue-dragging" appearance.
2. The linked article suggests that the entry level model of the Kizashi (or whatever name it ends up with as a production vehicle) will likely come with a four-banger. As a happy owner of a 2007 Suzuki SX4, I sincerely hope that said four-cylinder engine is a turbocharged version of Suzuki's J20A 2-liter engine (the SX4 is powered by the normally-aspirated J20A).
3. Given Suzuki's experience with AWD (the SX4 has a rather elegant three-mode AWD system), I hope that AWD (ideally modeled on the SX4's system) is at least an option on the Kizashi.
