TOP GEAR VIDEO - M3 vs. C63 vs. RS4
I didn't see this get posted, but it is a good set of videos as Top Gear compares the M3, C63 and the RS4. Watching Jeremy Clarkson try to nail the apple at the apex with the C63 he was driving was quite amusing.

I take it the IS-F was left out of this comparison so the Euro cars could look good, right? Top Gear really blows.

What? If anything they didn't want to embarrass the IS-F like it's been done in all the comparisons.

Actually the IS-F was not available at the time and they were comparing "German V8 Compacts."

This episode was shown in the US a couple of weeks ago, but I believe its from early 2007 when it aired on BBC. And haven't we seen the IS-F go up against these cars enough already?

as usual, the BMW wins... why is this a surprise.. the cars are so true to their Philosophy.. the other 2 are essentially bolt ons. the lack of control on the merc is hilarious and the lack of any dynamicism ont he audi is lamentable, but true. the king wins again.. long live the king.

It's no surprise at all. What surprises me is that it did not do significantly better than the RS4 which is almost 4 years older. So it appears that the 4 year old model RS4 is doing really well for a car that is not as well balanced as the NEW M3.
All good cars anyway. I'd take the RS4 and M3 in that order for many reasons.

Top Gear is a good show and very entertaining. However, those bias British pricks are not infallible. It seems like alot of you poor saps gobble up everything they spit at you... It's pretty sad some of you can't think on your own.

BMW does not always win. They lose to Audi more and more. We must congratulate BMW on their win, but we must realize just how competitive the RS4 still is. BEing built on the old A4 B7 platform which came out in 2000 the RS4 still manages to be extremely competitive with BMW's newest offering.
The next RS4 on the B8 platform with much better balance, reduced weight and more horsepower will steal BMW's crown for sure.
And so the circus act between BMW, MB and Audi continues....

no circus act. the BMW M is always better engineered and more sublime and true to its mission. the others are bolt on wanna be cars. therein lies the circus.

Denial is not a river in Africa. I suspect that you are aware that the most recent RS4 an C63 are not bolt on wanna be cars as you put it. I believe that you are smart enough to do the research for yourself and find out that chewed up grass that you have been spouting is nothing but BS. I suppose you know this already.
All of these vehicles fall short is some way or the other. It's always a good thing to give credit where it's due. They are all good cars. Even the king knows that it has to keep improving it's game to keep the edge on a 4 year old vehicle.

And so the changing of the guard continues. First the RS4 stomps on the E46 M3. Next the new M3 with V8 narrowly increases the gap over the RS4.
I can't wait for Audi's next RS4 to really steal the crown away from BMW's M3.
Lighter, better-balanced, more horsepower and larger...the next RS4 will surely be one amazing car.
