TRD Gives Some "Serious" Attitude to the Newly Launched Toyota Crown
The newly refreshed and launched Crown only arrived on the scene yesterday, but we'ree already seeing some nice bodywork from several manufacturers (we'll introduce them later this week).

Let’s start with the quite aggressive but elegant TRD version. As you can see its been given the front spoiler we've already seen on the Fairlady Z Nismo (Z350), as well as some elegant side skirting which emphasizes our vehicle's sportyness.

TRD also provided an ASV Suspension Kit as well as two different pairs of rims.

I thought it was a Hyundai Genesis at first from that shot. Is Toyota copying Hyundai now too? Perhaps

because it makes people feel better to say that, i.e. it somehow justifies why they've been so successful as a company as opposed to just making well-built vehicles.

LexusKindaGuy12, why down with Hyundai -- they offer such great value that they keep most of industry competitive unlike many Toyota dealers who still believe they can charge full MSRP.

Why shouldn't a Toyota dealer be able to charge full MSRP? When you go to McDdonalds do you walk up to the counter and tell the 16 year old standing back there that you have decided that the Big Mac should only cost 69 cents because you saw on some website that they make them for 29 cents?

Since when was profit a dirty word?

Do you think that Toyota dealers are able to charge MSRP (and more when new products come out) because they sell a product desirable enough to command this?

I think that we have all gathered that once upon a time some car dealer treated you like a dime store hooker.

Maybe you should start focusing your energy on defaming the dealer that got you so bad and not an entire industry or specific manufacturer.

I think that your praise of Hyundai's value speaks volumes about it's customer base. I once spoke to a Sales Manager from a Hyundai Store who said this;"Hyundai's are for people who want a Honda or Toyota but can't afford one."

That's really nice. I hope Toyota brings this new Crown here in Middle East. They can discontineo the not so good selling Avalon.

And perticularly this TRD Performance version would be good as there is really a market for such cars here, good selling Hemis, GM SS models, AMGs are the proof.

TRD? I think T - U - R - D is more fitting !! Toyota would love to claim that TRD is their M or AMG but it really isn't!

If only TRD was more a presence in the US offering TRD models of the Matrix, Corolla, Solara, Camry (aka Altima SE-R competitor), Tacoma, etc.

W209

I never said anything about TRD competing with AMG.
I said there is a good market for cars(performance sedans) like Hemis, GM SS models, AMG...etc here in Middle East (Money is not an issue here) so Toyota should also offer their TRD tuned cars here.

and if u don't know magazines do compare Hemis to SS and AMG here in Middle East.

Example.

Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 VS ML63 AMG VS Cayenne Turbo

Lumina SS VS Charger SRT8 VS E63 AMG

Those are ridiculous comparisons (I suppose made for the hell of it) on cars that do not compete with eachother. TRD shouldnt be on the same line as AMG. I dont know over there but TRD isnt really known for fast cars here in the U.S.
