Curious to see how Tesla makes its electric cars? A few journalists have had the chance of visiting the old Toyota-GM joint-venture NUMMI plant in Freemont, California, which is now owned by Tesla.

Inside the ultra-clean and modern factory, employees and a variety of impressive piece of machinery are working together to build 500 Model S electric sedans every week, and according to Gilbert Passin, Tesla's VP of manufacturing, that number will keep increasing until the whole plant, which is about as big as 88 football fields, is full of production lines.
