Take a Closer Look:The First Official Shots Of The Lexus IS-F in Silver
Sorting through the Lexus IS-F microsite today, I noticed that for the first time we have actually see pictures of the upcoming IS-F in silver.
No doubt paired with the black leather interior this will be one sexy beast.
But is silver the best color? Our recent surveys seem to show Blue as a favorite, but just looking at it in silver it makes me wonder if it will be the sleeper color for the IS-F.
What do you think?

It really is Agent009 who is flooding autospies.com with this stuff, not Lexus.
The average person on the street likely still doesn't have a clue what the IS-F is.

that's not exactly true.
he has a relationship with the folks in lexus marketing. don't you remember the couple of special invites recently from brian at lexus?
and lexus advertises more on this site than anyone else. put two and two together.

Actually you guys drive the content. I could post an article about a 1984 Yugo being shot out of a cannon and some how Lexus would be mentioned in the comments.
It was an honest question, nothing more.

Mmmm, not really when all the information in this new post could have been mentioned in your prior news posting.
This repetitive stuff just fuels the Lexus haters and Lexus fanboys alike.

Enough already. There are more of these useless posts for the IS-f and it isn't even as good as an M3. The GT-r which has been hyped for years doesn't even have this much useless posting. I guess this speaks to the eventual buyers of each of these cars. The GT-R and M3 will have more Premium car shoppers. The IS-F will get more tuner lurkers but will not get any shoppers!

nicad, you are extremely bitter. It's hard to swallow you saying you're European- the Germans make amazing cars. Japanese manufacturers do, too, but they also spew out a lot of imitators. This is one of them.

The M1 was initially supposed to have been built by Lamborghini, but their financial situation at the time meant that BMW's M division re-assumed control of the project and built it themseleves:

To say that the German's have never built a real performance car is just silly. The original M3 for instance is the most successful saloon car racer of all time. Are we supposed to beleive that the IS-F will be a true performance car and the M3, RS4 and C63 aren't?

3 points of criticism from a professional standpoint:
1. originality. i believe pics of a silver is-f have already seen shown many times throughout the web even on the site.
2. grammar. for a reporter whom is tied to this very website to post an article with grammatical errors such as "...we have actually see pictures of the upcoming IS-F in silver..." appears unprofessional especially when making attempts at original contents. an editor or writer itself should proofread prior to submission especially for an article as opposed to a mere comment. an "edit" function would be useful in both situations.
3. purpose. how is a reader supposed to know if silver is the best color offered for the is-f when no information is offered on available colors? or is the article asking on the opinion of readers between silver and blue alone? mere consumer choice between 2 colors is rather... unspectacular.

Most of our fans use the search option to see several articles on the color choices were previously written. No need to go back over it showing the same color choices not on the vehicle.
The grammer was a simple typo. Just as you did by failing to capitalize IS-F the appropriate name for the vehicle. I see we both can make mistakes.
Originality is in the eye of the reader. If the question does well then I guess we hae proven a point. Only time will tell there, check back a bit later tonight to see.

as to the is-f, i can only imagine it having horrible front visibility with a hood like that. its huge! the top of the hood is almost level with the top of the steering wheel and does not slope downwards as it goes forward unlike the new m3 which also has a big hood but at least slopes downwards in front with its wedge shape. the is-f hood looks like the hood of a truck. lol.
the front bumper also looks terrible from its profile.
cool "toy" car though. many had said the same thing with the e60 m5.

Now when will the IS-F come in RED (BMW's sport color)...?

I thought the old German racing/country color was a powder blue.
You used to see it a lot on concept cars or pre-production cars provided to the press.

No, Caltrans, the S/RS signature color is Sprint Blue. The only S/RS car it's not available on is the S8, for obvious reasons. But it looks amazing on my S4, on the S5, S6, RS4, and RS6 Avant.

I agree with no1listensanyway. The IS350 is a very elegant, sporty, well-proportioned design that strikes all the right chords. But I just abhor the hood on this car. It RUINS it. Destroys the profile and the front end. There was no need for a huge hood! Or, more directly, there was no need for a 5.0L V8!!! Audi and BMW use 4.2L and 4.0L respectively, getting the same/more power than this car. You could say Mercedes uses a 6.2... but not only are they getting more power and torque, but they didn't need an unsightly hood bulge: they only lengthened the hood on the C63 AMG, and it still looks proportionate.
Also, instead of modifying the body of the S4/RS4, Audi revised the chain and made the engine more compact. That is one small detail (among so many) that makes me love Audi. They are geniuses.

Hyundai- I guess you have a choice, you can look at other sites and see 3 or 4 articles a day on slow days like today or come here where there is always something happening.
Everyone reports the news, but here you can hang your tail out a bit if you want. On those other sites the moderator will slap you down for voicing your opinion. We keep a bit loser reign on it on purpose, and admit when we are wrong (sometimes reluctantly).
A lot of other sites only want you to believe their filtered content and self supporting views.

I like it. The hood accommodates a larger engine, and is a better solution than just raising the middle of the hood, which would make it look like a Mitsu Lancer. Also, for a Japanese car, I'm happy that there's no giant wing on the back. I'd still prefer a menacing black exterior color for this beast though.

"I like it. The hood accommodates a larger engine, and is a better solution than just raising the middle of the hood, which would make it look like a Mitsu Lancer."
I agree, but neither of them needed any hood bulge at all. I actually prefer the M3's slightly more discreet bulge to the IS-F's all too obvious oversized hood. But like I said- neither is necessary. Audi revised the chain in their 4.2L to fit it in the B6 S4, which has carried over to the B7 S4/RS4. Mercedes was also clever in their modification: instead of increasing the hood's height for the C63, they simply elongated it. It still fits right in with the rest of the car. They also did this with the previous C55 AMG- but I bet you didn't notice!
I think black will look amazing on this car; so will white and grey. But primary colors just aren't going to work.

Man that is an ugly piece of .. car. And when I think I use to like the IS350 as the best looking car in the Lexus repertoire, now I just can't look at it anymore. What is with that look man?? Is Lexus really stupid? I mean, how can they come up with something like that????
I also heard (rumors maybe??) that the quad exhaust is somewhat fake? Like only 2 out of 4 are really used, 2 are just for the look. Is that true 009?? That would be the last piece of the cake ... hahahhaha
