Teenage Lexus Insanity
In a bid for first place in the “Stupidest thing you can do with a Lexus” contest, an absolutely insane Saudi Arabian teenager decided to drive 150/mph in an LS 430 down an abandoned highway…all while sitting in the backseat. Read Article

I think this kid needed the head deviation monitor. I guess Lexus did not plan any safety features for someone this stupid. Maybe they could program the seat to sense whether a driver is actually present while the car is moving and if not it could self-destruct and remove the idiot in the car from the gene pool before he/she can cause any further damage.

actually Xero, if that LX had no assistance in tracking, it would prove the superiority of how they built that road more than how good a cars alignment might be.

I hate to tell you this but, I have been to Oman, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait etc...And, Yes, I have taken a few tours while overthere and let me tell you sir..You are blowing smoke are XXXes with plastic seats. I was on at least 10 different Toyota Land cruizers and none had a cheap plastic seats as you've claimed.
Please be more honest next time.

I think he was referring to the plastic wrap on the leather seats, not that the seats were plastic.

It is a very Arab thing to do. All my Arabic friends have at least one piece of furniture plastic wrapped.

So boring to drive that you don't want to drive it by your self.

So you sit on the backseat doing something useful, like reading the paper.

This stunt was pulled off on a highway in Saudi Arabia that has been completely shut down, no longer in operation.

Besides the fact that the road was probably fairly straight and level, the other factor that kept the car traveling in a relatively linear fashion is inertia. At 150 miles per hour, the tendency of the car is to continue traveling in the same direction that it is. The spinning wheels, in addition, may be providing some gyroscopic effect that resists any lateral movement. Or.....he simply cheated and we will never know!

Did nobody notice the camera going forwards and backwards? Everytime the camera went forward, magically the car straightened out....he was adjusting the steering wheel the whole time.

Unfortunately, I agree. Most people who drive Lexus', especially women, cannot handle a car. They swerve in front of you or don't take advantage of the V8 or...well, let's just say that about 90% of all who drive a Lexus can't handle that privilege.

ok i have that car and believe me there is no possible way to go 150mph or stay in a straight line for that matter someone had to be making little adjustments to the steering wheel

Well I def don't think People that drive Lexus's are stupid...lol. They are nice rides and the vid is BS. When the camera is not on the wheel I am sure someone is adjusting it. And as stated above no way to get to that speed unless you disabled the governor (Maybe its KPH?). Also you can see the ride start to veer then the camera moves and all of a sudden it is back in lane...ehehe...too funny...

Lexus ALWAYS understates their 0 - 60 times by at least .5 seconds. Here are the results of the 5 Top Luxury Cars in this test which was reported in the January Issue of Car and Driver. Please note these tests were all done on the same day at about the same time and at the same altitude. The results reflect the average of 3 runs and all cars are the 2007 vintage.

Mercedes S550 5.6, 0 - 60 quarter mile in 14.1 (Benz show 5.4 in their specs)
BMW 750iL 5.7, 0 - 60 quarter mile in 14.2
Jag XJ Super 6.0 0 - 60 quarter mile 14.5
Lexus LS460L 6.2 0 - 60 quarter mile 14.6
Audi A8 6.8 0 - 60 quarter mile 15.2

Note that Lexus, as usual, is more than the 5.4 the manufacturer CLAIMS to get by .8 seconds.

Also note the LS430 (prior model the LS460 replaced) was rated at 295 HP and was actually 278 when Lexus corrected their rating. And there were no refunds or apologies from the so-called "quality" car company. ABC - Always Be Careful what you buy from the (REPREHENSIBLE) Toyota/Lexus people.....
