Since the announcement of the "D," Tesla's stock price has been paying a bit of a price, literally. Yesterday, shares of TSLA traded down more than five percent.

It's pretty clear that the market was expecting something completely new or entry-level as opposed to a more expensive dual motor alternative and the addition of the autopilot feature. I think the question now becomes "will it continue to slide?"

If you own shares of TSLA, I hope you took some profits off the table.

Now if that wasn't enough, it turns out — according to reports — that owners of a new Model S are not so happy with the new updates as they bought cars before they were implemented. In fact, one owner got so pissed they started a petition for all-wheel drive and autopilot to be retrofitted to their older Model S vehicles.

In the traditional world of cars, if you didn't do your diligence that's your problem. But in a world where Elon Musk has sold the vehicle essentially like a piece of technology hardware where you just update it, buyer's expectations have changed.

So, will he be able to feed the 98 signees need? We will see.


...Meanwhile, some Model S owners are upset that their vehicles lack the new AWD feature or the hardware that would enable them to get the autopilot and safety features. Richard Wolpert of Los Angeles has launched a Change.org petition asking Tesla to come up with a retrofit; so far 98 people have signed it.
