Tesla Roadster - From California

I getting tire of hearing about Tesla, isn't the same car that keep getting delay or something? And suppose cost up close to $100k?

Let get serious, many people can't barely afford a $25k car this day. So if this car is really costing north or close to $100k, good luck staying in business. Not only that, it way to small to fit a family of four or five.

GM's Bob Lutz said in an interview that when he heard about Tesla it was a turning point for him and pushed him to move forward with the Volt.

Now other major car makers are having to do what GM is doing to keep up with technology. Tesla was the seed to future economic growth as electric cars will cost less to operate and bring down cost of oil for other energy needs.

Yes its expensive, any new technology is. Remember when flat screens were 25 grand, or 486sx2's were 800 bucks. True more people than ever cant afford one, but also today there is more rich people than ever before to buy the stuff.

Their marketing is target racers because they are a relatively small audiance and willing to spend more for performance. Then make a 4 door using economies of scale to eventually do the same again until they have a full marketing mix.

This article is absolutely garbage.

Firstly, it is not an American car, the entire underlying car is Lotus - British !

Secondly, 0-60 in 3.9 second is faster than a Ferrari - Which Ferrari : Not the 430,599,etc. Even the 4-seater "Touring" 612 has been times faster !

Thirdly, over a hundred thousand dollars for an Elise/Exige with a battery pack?

They pushed GM to making an ev which pushes everyone else.

Furthermore as of the 10th they had delivered 27 to customers and plan to be up to a rate of 20 per week by december

Saw one in the parking lot at my gym, looks just like an Elise. But still you have to respect the technology here. Batteries are the future.
