Come on, the article is about the MOST AFFORDABLE LUXURY CARS, NOT THE BEST LUXURY CARS between $35k-$45k, hence their title "Luxury for Less". There is a difference.

The 3.2 A6 is really good at the price point below $45K
I think it was European Car of the Year.

You know, I think they left out one important factor: options.

You can have the base price start at 38 or something, but with options it'll skyrocket. Or you could have some that are completely equipped for under 45... BMW and Mercedes are notorious for nickel and diming you to death. Acura, otoh, includes almost everything standard. (That is not a flame, just pointing out a fact).

are you kidding i never give a es a second glance, actually i can't really remmber what they look like. Are they the ones with the open fish mouth up front, kinda buickish with a hint of late 90's chrysler. Wow, i'm getting sleepy just thinking about it.

This article is meaningless. Not best, just most affordable. And by them choosing the ES350 over, say, an Acura TL or Infinit G35, the word "best" obviously is way too subjective.

Why'd you display a German car as though it won overall?

Except for the GS, none of the choices really gets me going.

Kind of funny that the ES is bigger than the 3-series yet gets better mileage with a larger displacement engine. It nearly matches the A4 convertible w/ the 2.0 litre engine. Oh well.

Well, minus 1 star for being manufactured by Toyota, minus a 1/2 for diverging from European diesel. It's odd that the ES and MDX had no rating. The enthusiasts must not have been present to tell Businessweek what to think.

renlex495, the Lexus ES350 is nice but as much as I don't like the 5 series myself, the lexus isn't better infact... what made u compare them, there 2 differnt type of cars
