The Biggest Enemy For Speeder's Yet?
Law enforcement officers battling dangerous speeders have a new high-tech weapon in their arsenal, and it fits in the palm of a hand. The new SpeedLaser
®
B, for its compact binocular shape, is the smallest, lightest SpeedLaser on the market.
“
This is the latest in a long line of innovations from Laser Atlanta and SpeedLaser to assist law enforcement officers in their daily efforts to make our highways safer places to travel,
”
said James Kelly, President and CEO of Laser Atlanta.
“
The new SpeedLaser B puts all of our frontline features like stealth, jammer detection and inclement weather modes into a rugged package that fits in the palm of your hand.

The biggest hurdle for speeding are camera's on the freeways and intersections for speeding and red light running.

The problem is not speeding. It's lack of good judgment in deciding when to speed. Many speed limits are set too low and cause accidents accordingly. I once got caught on a newly paved road on the way from one own to another. On the way back I kept the car strictly at the speed limit and an impatient parade formed behind me. Many drivers started to pass me on hills over a double line. I ended up thinking that I would be the cause of an accident because I was sticking to the speed limit.
The problem is that our political masters want to be seen to be watching out for our safety so they set unrealistic speed limits even though tire and brake technology has vastly improved during the last several decades.

i fully agree, most limits are set TOO LOW and can actually make travel UNSAFE as you describe.
the SAFEST speed, proven by many studies, is ~10 mph above the average prevailing traffic. this keeps you OUT of clumps. and most all passing is on YOUR terms. (some will prefer a +15 or +20 mph pace.)
conversely, if you are 10 mph BELOW, it is actually more dangerous.
the rate of accidents charted against speed forms a "U-curve" with the +10 mph at the bottom (safest). going faster OR slower puts one UP the curve, meaning higher accident rates. interestingly, the slope is steeper at the low end. meaning, going 25 mph below average is even MORE dangerous than 25 above!
of course, it will be difficult convincing a trooper who nabs you for speeding that this is true. even tho' the insurance industry AND traffic agencies compiled the stats that form the basis of this chart and curve.
so know that (REASONABLY) excessive speed is not unsafe, EXCEPT to your wallet IF YOU GET CAUGHT.

Its ok, the real fun is in acceleration and cornering, not actual speed. Speed is for getting places quickly, not enjoying the overall drive.

I have had a valentine one radar detector for over 15 years and laser is a whole other ballgame. I have had several circumstances where I was cruising along not sppeding in the middle lane and a cop was shooting laser at the car next to me and my laser detector never went off. The problem is laser is such a fine beam odds are once your detector goes off it is too late. I have heard laser/radar jammers don't work.

Many fine laser jammers out there. Anyone who gets a speeding ticket is a tool. Don't leave home without protection!

Don't speed w/ anything that has Projectors or HID's @ nite. 530 and CX-7 both white and have very sharp cutoff projector, the CX-7 beam cut-off is sooo straight and high and fluctuates colors by rapidly bouncing up and down, I never speed @ nite w/ it. Thats where the stealth Camry comes in, well not so stealth any more, Yellow Heads and HID fogs, hehehe.
