171 mph is not fast enough?! Give me a break!

If they are worried about competition from Mercedes AMG or Porsche or anybody else, sell it at a lower price. (I don't know what this car sells for in Europe, so it may not be possible.)

Where in the US can you even drive 171 mph legally? I don't get these people who complain without thinking...

It's less than the AMGs, but is close to a Porsche 911.

Oh come now, I am pretty sure they don't mean that it isn't fast enough in terms of its top speed, they mean it isn't fast enough in terms of its acceleration.

Jaguar will be introducing their new 5.0 liter engine soon anyway, and I would imagine that they don't want to muddy the waters.

I assume you know that Lexus doesn't have an XKR-S competitor nevermind the XKR base model.

Toyota executives probably consider the SC/Soarer a competitor.

Well most of it's competition is substantially faster, so my answer would be yes, it is not fast enough.

I don't know about that!? I'd consider the M6 to be a direct competitor to the XKR-S.
