The Line Starts Here! Lexus Offers IS-F Test Drives At This Years SEMA Show
The SEMA show is only open to the automotive specialty performance products trade, and NOT to the general public/consumer. So you need to keep that in mind. The general public will not be allowed to test drive the vehicle.

But if you are lucky enough to belong to the trade and/or are SEMA members, you can the test drive the new IS-F.

The tests drives are offered in 15-minute intervals on Tuesday 30 October from 12 Noon to 5 PM and on Wednesday 31 October and Thursday 1 November from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Good Luck!

This might be an effort for this to happen. Also it allows the after market to step in and allow it to play seriously with the big boyz.

One of the best comments ever posted at autospies.

There really does come a limit where horsepower/torque can't really be bettered each generation.

Like you said, with the complete morons on the road excess power is really not needed.

Everybody likes to think they are an "enthusiast" or the world's greatest driver, but reality is a much different story.

Great marketing for what looks like a mediocre car (for its segment)!

Ever heard of class leader? That's the IS-F.

How can a car be the class leader when it hasn't even been driven yet? And the last so called BMW killer (is350) failed miserably. I’m not sure what you are basing this dominance on. Go home Lexus freak

Tying the 3er for points in Car and Driver is hardly considered failing miserably.

If you gave me a Lexus IS-F I'd show you guys how to smoke a BMW M3. Give me a Lexus LF-A and I'll show you how to kill a Bugatti Veyron on the Nurnbergring. I love driving and the standard Lexus IS350 is the ultimate purist sports sedan.

That... speaks volumes about the car's ability, I guess. I want it to succeed but there's a chance it won't.

I still can't get over the hood! It just ruins the car! It makes it look like a beached whale from the front.

this is an automotive site, not a marketing site.

enough with posts with no information except marketing tactics.

Not gonna happen.

Have you ever noticed the Lexus ads that are frequently run on the borders of the page? Not today, but a lot.

yeah, I think we call them fanBOYS..... david, please go away. come back once the numbers are actually out ANYWHERE (even internally, as I have an inside contact that confirms lack of info)-- if the numbers are even close on paper then you can make your little arguments and comparisons. (NOTE- that still won't make them valid, as anyone who considers the IS350 a purists sports car seriously needs to check back into the mental hospital they broke out of)

I can't believe there's still people who think he's legitimate. Once you realise he's actually a parody of a Lexus fan he becomes alot more entertaining. :)

This car is the biggest non-event going. The hyping should be over now. Give us the damn hp figures and let the car mags drive it. Everything they've done so far with it screams ricer. Sema test drives? WTF. Is this all marketing or are they trying to get more hp out of it at the last minute? Enough already, show the numbers!

I think we've all gotten past the point that for most people a lot of horsepower isn't a good idea. However, that's not really the point, is it? These manufacturers are just giving you - the fans - what you want: a better spec sheet. Look at all these post about "how much horsepower does it have?" when it doesn't really matter because a) most people will never take it past 90mph, b) most people probably SHOULDNT take it past 90mph. This is all about testoterone and feeding the beast.

I'd be willing to bet that of all sport car owners, probably less than 5% actually take them to the track or really get to the guts of the car. Much like motorcycles, no one knows how to actually ride and an even smaller percentage ever go to the track. I love showing up at bike events with half a thousand people there and finding 2-3 people that actually track ride besides myself.

I've actually stopped buying sports cars because it's more depressing to me to have all that power and not being able to use it. If I had more time for track, I'd probably grab a car that I wouldn't freak out if it got a scratch, but could still have some fun in it (GTO, WRX, etc.).

Cause the simple reality is, MOST sport cars - especially luxury sports cars - will never see the track. Even if the driver had the time, they wouldn't because they'd be too worried about breaking their $60,000+ car.

But, back on topic. These guys know they are never gonna use the car for what it has: it's just cool and sweet to have a sports car, so let them have their fun.

Lexus IS-F will only be popular on the AutoSpies site. Nobody else really cares about this car.
