The Most BRILLIANT Idea Yet On The Bailout! Should The Oil Companies Foot The Loans To Help The Auto Industry?

I would LOVE to tell you that I was the one smart enough to come up with this idea but it was my friend over at the Auto Channel who had this stroke of brilliance and shared it with me at the BMW private LA Auto Show media dinner at Patina Wednesday night.

Forget the US taxpayers or the Government bailing these guys out, how about the PR move of the young century...The Oil companies offering to loan Detroit the money as an act of compassion to the American people and an industry that has been SO good to them over the years.

They certainly HAVE the money and even if they lose it and the companies go broke eventually (which will probably happen anyway even with the 25B), it really wouldn't even be a blip on their financials.

Can you IMAGINE the PR they would get and TOTALLY erase the bad feelings basically EVERYONE on the planet has towards them?

People would LOVE them and support them like NEVER before.

If they spent $25B on a PR campaign they couldn't even come CLOSE to the positive effect it would have on every single person effected by the economy.

And Bush and Cheney could make the call to their oil company buddies, be responsible for getting it to happen and go out as heroes.

I say it's one of the best ideas I've EVER heard since I've run this website.
