The New X5 Prices

Just spoke with the dealer

2007 X5 3.0 $45,900
2007 X5 4.8 $54,500

I'm sure options will help increase the price

Whoa, 3.0si prices are lower than I expected...but when I was reading the press release, I saw a lot of "optional" and "available" equipment. More than usual. I guess a reasonably equiped 3.0si can easily fetch $55,000.

BMW facing the heat? The old 4.8 liter engined version cost 71,100 dollars. The 4.4 liter cost 53,600, the 3.0 cost 42,500. I am pretty sure options will bring prices up a lot, but BMW priced the 4.8 relatively cheap.

All I can do is applaud the pricing. it is higher than the old version and I am sure all the really cool stuff will be optional. But still, a 2006 X5 3.0 can easily get up to $55K with no problem at all. So if you figure the 2007 base is 46K and 10K will buy you LOTS of options (probably the two biggest packages) you end up with a vehicle that is brand new, LOADED with great stuff and MAYBE a grand over the old one... nice.

Chewy - yes the Q7 4.2 is 49,900 but the 65k one is the hot car and the 3.6 starts ad 39,900 but we all know most will be around $45k

TVT01 don't worry this new model will be well over 55k also

Chewy,

The 4.8 replaces last years 4.4 - that's why the price is similar...

I think that you will be able to option up the new V8 past 70k like the last one, but you will have to write "I paid 75k for this" on your windows, or better yet drive around with window stickers attached. Otehrwise, how would the people know how rich you are.

mid 45's is all BMW would try to charge, more and they are out of the game and into Landrover small #'s per year...
Too many people are having problems with their BMW electronics to pay more either.
With gas possibly going to 4/gallon, this will also keep sales luke warm until BMW improves and leads with better gas mileage... I loved my 528 that got 29 mpg and 0-6 in less than 7 seconds...

I agree cartrash the RX and GX are ugly but the only reason why the X5 doesn't have a rollover warning is because it is wide, low just like a stationwagon

Guys, the current X5 is an awesome car, I finally broke down and leased a 2004 3.0 with sports package. The car is special order color Imola red and 30,000 miles of zero problems, not one mechanical or electrical problem. The sports seat are more comfortable than my recliner. The biggest surprise though was the engine, I was really concerned about lack of power and although more would have been nice, this truck handles like a car. I will be ordering the new X5 when it becomes available.

I HAVE an X5 (03 3.0) and it is terribly underpowered. You hit the gas hard, watch the tach needle climb, and slowly you start moving...I wish the new si will have more low-end power.

Cartrash: My X5 has a rollover sticker, it failed the NHTSA tip-test. The Stability control was reworked for 2004. BMW was really embarassed.

Kinda off-topic, but you know how options make the car more expensive? Not the case with the 2004 Lincoln Aviator. I drove it before I got my X5. MSRP was $52,000. They offered me $40,000. It was brand new. They said that it had options nobody wanted, like centre rear console,.... oh, and it drove like an explorer. (which it is).
