I like corvette, but standard german cars have better interior. The overal interior look and feel is the only thing that puts corvette car at a disadvantage. Some of the displays units look like it is from the 90s.

With that said, I will probably get one next year.

True, most of the Germans have better interiors, but none of them have the performance for the price like the Vette.

Who in their right mind buys a corvette for it's interior quality?

That's like turning down a Mercedes S Class because it doesn't handle like a Ferrari Enzo.

Huh?

I have been speaking English for a long time and your post is NEARLY beyond my comprehension.

I believe what you meant to say, if you could adequately speak for yourself is this:

For the money, this car is as justifiable as any vehicle sold in any market around the world.

The new 6.2L (LS3) will be in the base Corvette.

The new standard engine for 2008 Vette, will now be the LS3 engine, on both targa and convertible.

The new, 6.2L LS3 small-block V-8 is the standard engine in Coupe and Convertible models. It is rated at 430 horsepower (321 kW)* and 424 lb.-ft. of torque (586 Nm)* with the standard exhaust system; with the new, optional two-mode exhaust system, power ratings increase to 436 horses / 325 kW and 428 lb.-ft. / 592 Nm. As a result, the standard Corvette is true supercar, capable of 190 mph. The LS3 with the six-speed paddle-shift automatic is the fastest automatic-equipped Corvette ever, with 0-60 mph capability of 4.3 seconds.

This new iteration of the storied small-block family features a revised, larger-bore cylinder block – 4.06-inch / 103.25 mm vs. the previous 6.0L’s 4.00-inch / 101.62 mm bores – high-flow, LS7/L92-style cylinder heads; larger-diameter pistons; revised camshaft and camshaft timing; revised valvetrain with offset intake rocker arms; high-flow intake manifold; high-flow fuel injectors from the Z06’s LS7 engine; and a new engine beauty cover.

For the Money what has more bang for the buck? It might not have the GERMAN feel interior but drive one and it is an animal and getting one under sticker is not a problem.

Even if the Corvette came with all sorts of luxury items like night vision & heated-this/that, and the finest leathers from all over the world, and the world's greatest navigation system, you'd still get the "German Fanboys" saying...yeh well, it might be fast, but uh, it's interior sucks, and it uses a 20 year old pushrod engine.

hot car for the money and the damn thing is fast. if people can drive a mitsubishi evo or subaru wrx sti which are fast but ugly, then theres nothing wrong with a vette which is fast and beautiful. not refined, but its getting there.....

Lexus, When was the last time in recent memory that GM has launched a car that was a flop?

Look people.....in the US this car costs 40K Euro or roughly $54K US after taxes. That's about the price of a golf in some countries.

I guess no one buying these cars cares about mpg, that's fine. But I expected that would at least be one of the items listed in the top ten things you need to know about the 2008 Corvette. I guess it's just me, but I am anxious to see how the new 200 EPA rules affect big GM V-8s like the Corvette.

No one cares, other than GM, as they want to keep their CAFE in check. The mpg will depend on the transmission. The auto will get ~25 mpg highway, whilst the manual will probably achieve ~28+ mpg highway.

I love the Corvette, no bad word about it. I love its honesty and simplicity. When you drive one you feel the philosofy of its creator. Brilliant car.

As amazing as the car is for it's price, in the end it's still a Corvette and everyone has one. I live in Dearborn and I see them everywhere. The pizza delivery guy down the street from my drives a 2004 Z06.

If you want the performance and can't afford an exotic, you get this. Even if this and/or the Z06 is a better car than the Galladro and a hell of a lot cheaper, you would definately take the Galladro if you could afford both.

I'll take my soon to be R8 over this or the Z06 anyday of the week.

have fun maintaining the R8...it'll be in the shop A LOT!

the vette is an amazing bargain for the money...and maintenance costs are very reasonable. Screw those $100 Porsche oil changes. My 01 Boxster rattled/squeaked a helluva lot more than my 04 C5 6speed...car was solid as a rock and reliable.
