The UK's 20 Most Reliable Cars
20. MINI One/Cooper
19. Subaru Forester
18. Vauxhall Corsa
17. Ford Focus
16. Hyundai Getz
15. Skoda Octavia
14. Audi A4
13. BMW 3 Series (Last Generation E46)
12. Subaru Impreza
11. Honda CR-V
10. Toyota Avensis
9. BMW 5 Series (Current Model)
8. Nissan Primera

6. Toyota Corolla
5. Honda Accord (American Acura TSX)
4. Honda Jazz (Fit)
3. Toyota Yaris (Last Generation)
2. Honda Civic (Last Generation)
1. Lexus IS (Last Model)

Japanese dominate as usual, with 12/20 positions, and a completely Japanese top 8, but BMW's reliability perception is apparently undeserved, gaining position 9 and 13. Hyundai does well getting the Getz in at 16th.

Positions are based on a combination of Fleet News reliability, JD Power and Parkers' customers' experiences.

Poll after poll sees the Germans losing.

Their fans won't comment on this.

That Japanese cars are more reliable of course, what German car fan disputes this? Thing is reliability isn't the end-all of car ownership, nor are German cars falling apart and throwing fits on the side of the roads either.

LexusNumberOne4ever,

Why wouldn't we comment on this? We all know which nation makes the most reliable cars as a whole. Problem is that unlike you and some other Lexus-only people here, we (or at least I) can admit when the Japanese does something better. Too bad you and others can't do the same when it comes to Lexus, particularly when it comes to the new LS600hL getting its ass kicked by the S600. Lexus clearly said "V12" performance, but now you excuse makers are saying that the S600 isn't competition, only the 760Li and A8L W12 are? Its bull.

Mercedes: People who build full-size luxo-limos (S-class, 7er) perhaps, don't really pay much attention to their 0-60 times since their owners don't have any intentions of hitting the drag-strips.

nothing really 2 comment on, good for these cars/brands obviously its something they have to offer for their prices, if most cars cant achieve reliability, performance or luxury like the leading carmakers (wont mention any - just not to be biassed) atleast they can manage reliability

Sells too little to be counted.
Same with RX and GS.
And also this survey is influenced by Fleet News, a publication for company car buyers, so the A4/3 series class dominate that sector. A big thirsty SUV won't be the choice vehicle for someone who needs fuel efficiency and low car tax.

Excuse me?
Lexus sells 10% of what Audi, BMW or Merc do in the UK. Too little to be surveyed properly.
And please, next time you wish to scream at me and say I'm a liar, back it up. That provided no information at all.
And European sales of 50000? Audi sells that in a month.

Oh and Dodge has increase their UK sales by 18000%.
That still doesn't mean they're doing well though.

You so far into dreamland it isn't even funny anymore. When you get done searching for an imaginary Lexus to take on the S600 like the LS600hL WAS SUPPOSED TO let me know. If Lexus does do such a car, there is always the 604hp S65 AMG, a car that utterly destroys anything else on the market with 4-doors in luxury and power. Period. Try again dreamer.

LexusNumberOne4ever -

What lame BS. Now people who buy these cars don't care about 0-60 times? Excuse after excuse. Lexus said V12 performance, that means it is supposed to be faster than your average V8 in the class. The S600 does that compared to the S550, ahh...but does the L600hL do that compared to the LS600hL, just barely and that is because the LS460L has never performed up to what Lexus said it would. What a sorry state of affairs you Lexus guys must preside over when Lexus hypes something and it doesn't pan out in real-world testing. Don't get me wrong, the LS is an impressive car no doubt, but a moderately loaded LS460L makes more sense than the LS600hL ever could.

Owning a V12 or a car with "V12 performance" is about bragging rights and a 5.5 sec 0-60 time ain't squat next to a S600's 4.3 0-60 time. Lexus should have just said we can offer and a more powerful alternative to the S550, which is what the LS600hL lines up with in performance and price, makes a great alternative to a S550 actually. NOT to a S600, not even close. Oh and it does make a great alternative to a 760Li or A8L W12 on paper, styling, handling etc aside.
