The US made 245MPG car you never heard of before - ZENN
When doing my daily commuter grinding along the sunny streets of California I noticed a car unfamiliar to my auto enthusiast eyes. No it was not a Mini or some typical Japanese econo box. Being curious I took a closer and noticed no tail pipe, had a large "Electric" decals on the sides, did not look that bad (but def not pretty), and got the same attention as someone driving a F430. So what was it? I read on the badge...ZENN. So first thing I did was Google it and sharing to you.

ZENN credo:
Since we first began to walk, we have loved the feeling of movement.
To get around and see the world.
To be free.
Cars have given us mobility.
But with the heavy costs of pollution and oil dependency.
ZENN is about returning to the purity of that original feeling.
ZENN may look like a car, but it refuses to act like one.
You’ll experience the simple joy of moving freely.
With silent, exhilarating acceleration
ZENN will quietly change the way you think about getting from A to B.
The air is clean and your conscience is clear.
ZENN is a car that, while it runs on electricity, is fueled by optimism,
The belief that individuals can make a difference,
That we can do better.
ZENN is enlightened mobility

The retarded look comes from a desire to not only have efficiency, but utility as well. A box with very few curves is practical and simple.

However, because this vehicle falls inta a class more similar to motorcycles, you can bet it's not safe in a crash. I'd rather be flung off a motorcycle than crushed to death in a metal box.

The title says U.S. made, but everything I've seen says it's developed and manufactured in Canada.

It only goes 25 MPH, so you won't see this on the highway. It is certainly not a commuter car.

"Designed to meet neighborhood and urban transportation needs, the regulated maximum speed of a ZENN is 25 mph. As such its intended use is busy urban areas, lower speed roads and places like gated communities and campuses where speed is neither necessary, desirable or safe."

So it's ugly, too slow and takes all night to charge... I wonder why we havent heard of it??? Seems like a glorified golf cart to me even if their marketing pamphlet tells me not to make the connection.

I hear you about this site dropping your text when you go to write an article! I lost one a few days ago I'm waiting to lose my anger before writing again. Lesson to wise--always write in Word and paste into Autospies.

A great concept but what a POS! It doesn't comply with any safety standards, only goes 25mph and it has lead acid batteries! Why would any goverment allow this to be sold and to be driven off the golf course! For something positive I hear that they will be replacing those lead acid batteries with a new batterie that will out lasts lithium ion by 5 times. For something to be impressed by check out pml!
