I hooked up my accelerator to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

The blue sky above you goes green: Toyota Prius Convertible
While Toyota may not be offering a Prius convertible anytime soon, you can get yours today from Newport Convertible Engineering, an aftermarket tuning company that makes convertibles out original cars that manufacturers don’t to offer in topless variant.

We’re going to refrain from bashing the car on its looks but we’re just wondering how the fuel-economy is affected when the top is down.

NCE also offers convertible versions of the 2008 Cadillac CTS, HUMMER H3 and the Chrysler 300.

HIDEOUS. A really poor job at a conversion by a shitty customizing company. The CTS convertible posted here looked much better than this.

The framed doors, the tacky roll bar in the middle and that mess in the back to store the roof KILL whatever little "cool" aspect was in a Prius to begin with.

So true considering the prius is best in class for handling. R you JOKING!!! why would you even bring up the relevance of handling, this is not a sporty car obviously. Consumers are not looking for great handling when they look at a prius.

Since they require increased rigidity in the body itself, most convertibles weigh MORE than their fixed-top counterparts. When the point of a Prius is gas mileage, anyone driving this thing is going to look like a total moron.

A great combination of a truly stupid idea and a massive waste of resources.

Now here's the car I've been waiting for.

It would be perfect for me when I'm doin' an Open House, I could reach in grab a sign and get goin' without opening a trunk and then I could throw the signs in 2 seconds.

The best Toyota ever :-)

this is NOT a true convertible. it's what's called a landaulet(?) or something like that.

and you know what, the 4-dr RollsRoyce 'convertible' has the SAME stacked folded roof and standing door frames!

for that matter, so do the old Citroen 2cv "convertibles," for what it's worth! (a lot of laffs!)
