The driver who avoided parking ticket by refusing to get out of his towed-away car for TWO HOURS
'I refused to get out and just sat there reading the paper and listening to music for a couple of hours.
'I even ordered a sandwich from the café over the road.
'The police came around and the owner of the tow company arrived but I was stubborn and in the end they got so frustrated they let me go.'
It is believed Mr Shah still faces the original £60 parking ticket.

^^^BOOOO!!! I think we all know that much!!! Correct me if Im wrong but the fact of the matter is: We have all been there before and to see someone get out of it, its great. I hate those d*mn segway driving MF's here in Chicago that ticket your car being only 10 seconds over the limit!

If you live in London, then you know that parking in the city is damn near impossible, even around your home, If you live in West Kensington then it is even worse.
Only thing worse than Immoral Civil Servants limiting the amount of allocated parking spaces is Intelligence Challenged Civillians that accept all Orders from Government.
I work a lot with Property Developers, did you know that Local Councils in London regularly refuse to grant Planning Permissions for Developments that have parking spaces for more than 70% of Unit Nos ?
So Homebuilders are ENCOURAGED to allocate less than 70 parking spaces for every 100 apartments. WTF are the other people suppossed to park ?
I guess on the street, where they are more likely to get fined or towed away or both.

Start a teargas bomb and blow it in through the wiper cowl. Force the illegally parked SOB out crying, AND tow his car.

Figures its a BMW driver. I would've just let the air out of his tires, forget about towing the car. Dillholes like this give oldschool immigrants a bad name.

What, because he parked his car at 6 pm when the restriction ended at 7 pm and apparently he didn't understand the parking signage? You give humanity a bad name.

For those of you who don't salute this guy...your turn is coming. At some point the DMV is going to mess up their records or something similar and you (and your car) will be on the wrong side of the law. It might be your fault, it might not, but trust me you there is no feeling worse that having your car stolen by the government and held for ransom.

"He admitted he was in the wrong..."
haha, typical BMW driver, file this one under the "douche bag" category... rules that apply to everyone else don't apply to BMW drivers :)
I'm sure where "Mr. Shah" is originally from, they'll probably cut off his ankles for pulling such a stunt.

So wait, they have tow trucks that hook onto the car and lift them up and onto the bed via a crane? I guess that is for congested areas where parallel parking is the norm.
Other than that, why was he just sitting there? I realize to get out of a ticket, but the whole point of parking a car is to get out and go somewhere. So where was he going, what was he supposed to be doing when this happened.

M53R,
A Lexus driver would've just paid the ticket because they can afford to (no lease payments to worry about). This car's probably been on the road longer than dillhole has.
t_bone,
I've gotten speeding tickets before. One not justified, one was. I paid both because 2 hours of my time is worth more than 2 hours of BMW boy's personal training time.

Oh, and you drive a Jeep?! What are you doing driving a car like that if you earn $250/hr even when you aren't working?

My investments and my real estate make the first two hours of the month quite lucrative.
As for my job, my company is quite generous when I have to expense something for business. For $0.50/km I could make quite a nice living just driving around to conferences and meetings :) Then again, they can afford to since I've averaged their earnings to $17/sec (yes, per second).
As for why I drive a Jeep. I have confidence, I don't need a little plastic propellor to justify my lack of finances. Those with a clue know how much Jeeps are, those who don't think a leased 128i is something special.
