In terms of power, Mercedes will offer four variants of their new OM651 diesel powerplant ranging from 136 hp in the E 200 CDI to 204 hp in the E 250 CDI, with a pair of additional BlueTEC diesel variants as well.

For those of you favor a gasoline powerplant, five petrol engines ranging from 184 hp to 388 hp are also planned, while topping off the range will be an AMG-variant outputting around 550 hp. And last but certainly not least, a hybrid variant utilizing the lithium-ion battery technology already found on the S 400 BlueHYBRID is likely in the works as well, with reports placing its debut sometime in the 2010 calendar year.
