'This Is the Car we want, Mommy'
A growing number of auto companies are trying to place ads and products in child-oriented areas such as gyms that cater to kids, social-networking sites where young people hang out and the Saturday-morning cartoons. Their aim is to spur sales to parents -- and, down the road, to the children themselves. Read Article

wow this just goes to show how increadibly stupid people are. it says that 37% of parents of children age whatever to whatever are influenced by their children on what brand to buy. and its this "sneaky" advertising that makes them do it. Its pretty bad when you have to have your kids make your decisions for you. no wonder i get all these idiots in the dealership.

I can see why some Parents will let their Kids have an Input in the Car Purchase Decisions

If you keep the Parameters Strict I.e.
SUVs or Minivans or Wagons or Sedans

Then there is nothing wrong with taking your kid along to the Dealership when Viewing/Test Driving vehicles you are interested in and letting them have an Input.
A good Parent knows how to involve the child without handing over control of the Final Decision of Purchase

P.S.
If you are a Parent who already has a Fun Car and are just shopping for a Family Run-A-Round. Nothing wrong with the kid input thing as they are the ones who will spend most of their time in the vehicle (Other than their Chaeuffeur of course;-)
