the Z4? Really? And no SLK or SC430? That's a surprise. I see lots of guys driving Z4's, but at least 90% of the SLK's and SC430's I see on the road are driven by women (and half of the other 10% are probably guys driving their wives cars). I wonder where they got the info for this list.

and where's the RX? That's like 99.999% women drivers.

Did they get this list from new car registrations or something? Just because a car gets registered in a guy's name doesn't mean he's the one driving it. I'm a little suspect of the accuracy of this list.

I agree ... 99.99% of the Rx's sold are driven by women. Most likely, they are new car registrations which wont show who the car was actually for.

@jrobusc

I agree with you, this list must be generated by registrations. I know a lot of hotties that drive those cars too, but thier hubbies are paying for them.

Z4 is no suprise, and, it is registered more because its totally the single-and-almost-middle-aged women with-decent-salary - car.

What, in "Reasons why Lexus doesn't make cars they should" magazine? I don't see the TT or SLK in the list above.

Agreed, there's something wrong with a chick car list that doesn't have a TT and Beatle in it. This list is suspect.

the list was there..but I didn't really see anything that would classify as Luxury IMO besides maybe the Pacifica.

I'm really surprised to see that the Honda Accord wasn't on this list. 9 times out of 10 when i see an Accord, it's a woman driving, especially if it's red. I also see a woman driving the lexus rx suv and Mercedes M class suv's. I'm shocked when I see a man drive an M class. It seems to be rare. It's starting to be that way w/ the X5 as well. I've also never seen a man drive a Beetle (the new ones).

Women love the CX-7. It's got that SUV cool but chick car friendly look to it. The RX is the luxury version.

I was also confused as to why the Lexus RX wasn't #1 on this list, but I think it's because most of them are bought by men for their wives. That was my case. If the accurate number was known (how many Lexus RXs are actually driven by women), I have a feeling it would be something ridiculous, like at least 75%.

this is really a bogus list. After studying it a bit there are some glaring errors. Many of you pointed them out already. One that hasn't been pointed out is the the minivan. Where are they? How about the suburban? This list was made by looking at registrations that guarantee the woman drives, i.e. single women. One income women, single parent women. In a couple, the man usually signs and the woman cosigns. Its just society. Most vehicles we see women driving are usually too expensive for a single woman to afford, like the RX or the suburban, or are un-needed by single women, minivans and suburbans. These women are married and have these vehicles. All of these vehicles are cheap to midpriced except one anomaly, the Z4. It's the most expensive vehicle here. What this tells me is that when single women have enough money to splurge on a vehicle, they choose the Z4 over other competitors. I'm half expecting to get deboosted for my comments, but if you look rationally at this, my statements make perfect sense.

Where's the 3 series? That should be, at worst, 3rd on the list.

I like how they try to take a shot at Asian manufacturers saying women like their generally softer lines. Sorry, but every current BMW is downright doughie compared to a Pilot or Fit.

Again, must be a case of "BMW Envy"...

You can't attack one of the most highly praised cars ever created on performance, engineering and innovation so you take a trip down fairylane for a cheap punch..

Does your ego feel significantly stroked now that what "you thought" should have been third on the list is not even there at all???? Even if the 3 series were on this list it would only prove that women have great taste in cars... :)

The BMW 3 series is actually more of a girls car due to its tame design. I also see more women driving it than men. Not the case with the Lexus IS.

If any car is, the BMW 3 Series is split right down the middle in terms of male/female drivers. You can't deny that.

Michaeltayor, gonna have to disagree with you on that one. There are at least 15 in the town I live in and they're all driven by sorority girls. I think I saw one driven by a guy, though that might have been her boyfriend.

please huu. the entirely lexus brand is overwhelmingly driven by women. how many men do you know you drive an ES or RX or even an LS (a man under 70 at least)?

as a brand, bmw definitely skews toward men...especially all the Ms, 6-series, 7-series.

michaeltaylor:

yeah, that IS250 (85%+ of IS sales) is a really manly car. power, precision handling, sharp character lines...oh right, that's the 3-series i'm talking about.

get a clue.

If they did this study on overall brands, I do recall reading that something around 75% of Infiniti buyers are men...you rarely see a girl driving a G35, most M drivers are middle-aged men.

I doubt the average 'chick' knows that Infiniti exists.
