Not completely off, but definitely the best way to see the real consumption is by odometer per fill up.

Any car gets good MPG if you drive 30 mph. Saving gas ain't no fun.

Keeping your tires full and taking it easy on the brakes and gas are enough. Plus, some manouevers may make the obsessed driver save gas, but make the poor folks stuck behind him burn MORE, while they get stuck at a stop light.

If you want to save money, reduce the nation's oil addiction, etc, you have to think also of how your driving affects other people's driving!

Ok, everyone check out the air car! These air cars can drive from New York to LA on a single tank of gas (gas to power the compressor).These Hyper millers could probable go back too!
