Top 10 Hottest Sedans of 2008
The year ahead is critical for several automakers and their success or failure will be defined by the tried-and-true template of the ubiquitous four-door sedan.

Carmakers are rolling out eight new luxury sedans this year, and each one brings something fresh to the industry, be it style, performance or technology. Two other all-new entries from non-luxury automakers promise to heat up the premium segment.

How these vehicles fare with consumers is more critical than ever. The success of several manufacturers hinges almost entirely on which of the vehicles on our list of Hottest Sedans of 2008 will win over car buyers.

Take it from me and just about everyone else the CTS deserves to be up there. Its a great car and does alot to boost American made cars. If you have driven it and have some negative thoughts about it, i would be interested to here them. Otherwise i am not interested in listening to you repeat a the "American cars suck" stigma, because we've all heard it. This car represents GM turning over a new leaf, and it would be unfortunate if the public didn't support this.

I'm tired of bashing the IS-F.

I'm glad the M3 is on there... but I'm still puzzled by the MKS. It's essentially a modern Town Car. It's huge, has FWD, an uninspiring engine lineup, a yawn-inducing interior and an equally bland interior that's barely spiced up by headlights that can only be described as... distinctive.

The Lincoln Town car has never been FWD...

I like the IS-F. They are attempting to bring back fender skirts.

"The Lincoln Town car has never been FWD..."

True, but it might as well, because it steers like a cruise liner.

I'm a pretty 'hard-core' military man, so sympathy is not really my forte, though I do tend to be very empathetic.

The problem is that, as hard as I try, I can't put myself in their places, as there's just no way I can reduce myself to that level of absolute illogicality/irrationality.

BTW, there are some very worthy vehicles on this list, one being the wonderful Cadillac CTS!

As for GM the UAW was killing any available funds for development. Now that it has been restructured GM can put more resources into development and it is already showing. Luckily Japanese automakers do not have to worry about Medical and retirement costs like GM and Ford. It was and still is in the Billions, in 2006 combined was over $100 Billion. GM and Ford survived by having to cut corners. Hopefully no longer.

It is funny how some of you have no clue. And why Japan supports its auto industry much more the the US Gov't.

Two best cars in the group are the Jaguar XF and the Cadillac CTS, and for high end enthusiasts, the M3 and the ISF are obvious choices. Also the Hyundai Genesis will probably revolutionize the cars to come in the 30K segment in the years to come, because it has shown that high tech and powerful features can quite inexpensive and without any downside, because Hyundai will also give 10 year warranty. I am actually thinking of buying the Genesis. But personally if i had the money, i would have bought the Jaguar XF, such a beautiful car in flesh, only if the dough was in the pocket!

Is Hyundai Genesis really hot ?
It is not ugly but it's not beautiful at all !!

Also what Lexus IS-F doing in this list ?
LS460 is great but the IS Sucks !

I think the list missing the A4 and maybe the Infiniti G35 , at least it is more beautiful than that Genesis..

Just waiting for the hottest sedan I ever seen , Aston Martin Rapide :

that's a sad list. how exactly are they defining 'hot.'

saab: ancient design
pontiac: enough said
ls600: rolling hypocrisy
lincoln: seriously?
hyundai: impressive but NOT hot

the remainder seem reasonable. M3 clearly tops the list though.
