yeah, because when BMW was offering 0.9% last month on all 08' models that was out of the goodness of their heart.

Only difference Star is that BMW started giving cars away when we weren't in a recession :)

Right now I read almost 23% of people in the dealerships can't qualify for any loan.

Minimum score now for a loan is 720!

720 = perfect credit

Anything between that and 900 is just a measure of buying power.

"Kerry Rivera, spokeswoman for Toyota's finance arm, Toyota Financial Services, said the requirements to qualify for the offer include a FICO credit score of at least 650. The median FICO score is 720 on the scale that ranges from 300 to 850, according to a spokesman for Fair Isaac Corp."

GM has offered 0% for 72 months, for several months now. On an employee price at that.

Star will not qualify, maybe try the "BMW way" and lease one Corolla instead.

720!= perfect. and credit scores don't go to 900, the max is 850.

You mean those 0.9% buyers BMW turned down will not be able to get a Toyota either? It must be the end of the world, but we will be ok; thank goodness the Bailout Bill was approved.

On top of the 0%, what is the rebate on the FJ Cruiser ?

They are selling slower than a second-hand Aztek.

the whole auto industry is sucking wind in the US. so it's about relative performance.

and, over the past 6 months during which toy/lex has tanked, bmw, mercedes and audi have done far better. of course everyone tanked in september due to a lack of credit.

don't be so sure, BMW is expecting a 40% profit loss for '08, I won't call that "done far better"

That's because of the failing dollar, not because of a loss of sales, numbskull. Less people have been leasing their cars this year so they've probably taken in more cash from vehicle sales.

BMW’s 0.9% APR Financing 05/2008 through 10/31/2008 for 60 months is nowhere close to 0%.

tard-star,
I guess Toyota charging 4.9% and up can't hold off BMW's fleetwide 1.9% forever (12 months and counting). However, with US sales dropping so rapidly, Toyota won't lose much money on it. I think you should wait for more details, for example.
http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081003/FREE/810039990/1530/FREE

"...analysts say Toyota has the deep pockets to afford it..."
"The 0-percent loans are likely to have elevated requirements, meaning many potential customers won't qualify"

You'll notice that all hybrid's, Yaris, Landcruiser, Avalon and Solara are excluded.
www.toyota.com

Not sure why you're so happy, BMW won't be able to compete against Toyota now that they're competing on a level playing field. Oh well, I'm sure Toyota will pay a fair price once BMW goes up for sale.

Here's a dose of reality for you, in Canada where our economy is still good, everyone's sales in Oct tanked but Toyota's went up by 15% and that's with everyone else offering near 0% and Toyota charging 4.9% to 8.5% financing.

Poor Huu doesn't have any excuse to trash BMW now!!!

He always knew BMW was superior and now he has lost his only talking point... Much like Sarah Palin!!!

Let's see what kind of baseless facts you can spin up now Huu..

Giving everything away? What BMW dealership is that?

11 models isn't an entire lineup. You get 1.9% leases on the richman 7-series or the richer man 1 series.

You can't get any slack when trying to get a deal on a Prius or a Yaris.

You can damn sure get 2-4 grand off sticker and that's a fact.

My nephew just bought a new Yaris for 3500 off sticker..
