The United Auto Workers has told its members that early next year, Ford workers can expect $8,000 each, while GM workers will get around $7,000 each.

In 2011 Ford paid out $6,200, while GM awarded almost $7,000. For both automakers’ workers these profit-sharing checks would be 11% to 14% of the typical autoworker’s annual wage of about $58,500.
