I totally agree...look at the 4th pic down. Some angles are nice, but some can make you squint. I wonder if this styling creates a "coffin" for those in the backseat?— bigmotov (View Profile)

i was thinking the same in some pics it looks really good, like the last pic, but than in others it looks odd and ackwardly shaped, so I cant really draw an opinion about it I guess until I see it in person....the CLS has the same effect on me in person its not bad, but in pictures sometimes it just looks plain odd — bmwdrvr (View Profile)

Absolutely gorgeous car. It is unbelievable to see this car priced the same as econoboxes like the V6 Accord, Camry or Altima. How do the Germans do it? How can they manage to offer this level of quality, and price it the same as Japanese price their tin cans? I guess is just another lesson in car engineering from the Germans. BRAVO VW!!!— Star (View Profile)

it looks like VW and Audi are using the same suspension set up. The gap between the top of the tire and the bottom of the fender is just as huge as the new 09 A4. They really need to lower both of those products. It will give it a much more aggressive look. Other then that critique I would by one in a second and just get a set of H&R springs installed.— Dutchman (View Profile)

OMG. Great Value.I was very excited when I saw this vehicle at the Detroit Autoshow back in January. I drive 5 hours every yaer to see this show. The Passat made the most sense at the show, and seemed like a lot of car. I really thought this car was going to start at $40k USD and quickly climb with optons, which seems to be the trend with Euro manufactures. I really thought the falling US dollar would doom this car and that it would be unaffordable for most. Looks like I was wrong. I loved the car reguardless of the price.I didn't see a ton of people flocked around this car, but it was my absolute favorite of the show, and worth the trip for me.It seemed like the Hyndia Genisis was the talk of the Detroit show, but it stood by itself, with far less people around the Genisis as opposed to the Passat. The Genesis did nothing for me. It looked like yet another econobox and definately a miser's car. I spent only a few seconds at the Genisis and spent over an hour at the VW display returning many times. The Marketing of the VW display and the Passat inspired deep passion. It reminded me of the Mecedes display at the Detroit Show in 2000. Very cutting edge.I think VW has come a long way, and they have nice quality and styling. The BMWs were pricy and VW seemed to be far more sensible, yet still cutting edge. I think most people overlook VW because they were very pricy for many years.— mercuryguy (View Profile)

Does anyone know if there will be a Passat Wagon?Volvo's new XC60 Wagon seem nice from the pics, but I haven't actually seen one up close yet.A Passat Wagon Diesel might be nice to copare ith Volvo.I think VW should do a Marketing Campain: "Your Choice, Wagon or Sedan $28,000. This is the commercial that saved Ford in 1986:"Ford Taurus, your choice Wagon or Sedan $13,000" which was a great value for a mid size car during the 80s. The reason why Ford sold a ton of them. The simple pricing made it easy for shoppers to understand what they could expect to pay even if their needs were different.— mercuryguy (View Profile)

Agreed. The front and the side (from the front quarter view) looks really sleek - very expensive looking as well. For me, there's something strange about how the rear (esp. the rear taillights) is proportioned. But, still a very unique car in this segment. I'm assuming the CC starts at 28k for the 2.0T version? — ktu01 (View Profile)
