Upcoming Rolls-Royce 200EX to carry Bmw’s V12 engine

i think this car is going to outsell its competitors just on its sheer looks. now if they make a coupe version of this car I hope they bring that same coupe mentality to a new 7 series coupe for 2011 or 2012. This is something us BMW fans have been waiting for whats taking so long?

I can see the return of Rolls Royce' popularity among any type of people. I personally would consider this vehicle if I were shopping for a 750Li, an LS 600h L, or an S65 AMG despite the possibly big price margin. However, it's too flashy for an everyday drive through any neighborhoods...gonna want some bullet-proofing and flashy weapons that pop out of the trunk. KITT, ftw!!! :D

Bentley Flying Spur Develops 560hp and Flying Spur Speed 600hp.

So how the hell is a 507hp Roller going to leave the competition in smoke ?

507 horse power is not as much as the Bentleys.

I would say 2 things :-

(1) Either its a typo and they really mean 607 bhp

I mean it can be more powerful than the Phantom, isn't the Flying Spur more powerful than the Arnage ?

or

(2) 507 bhp but killer torque with that 6.6L V12 and significant weight benefits over the competition thanks to extensive aluminum/aluminium & hybrid material use.

Off course, the name will be quintessentially British - Classy and historic : Silver Seraph/Silver Ghost/Flying Spur.
Something rhyming along those lines.

Now, if only the American equivalent of luxury had such classy names rather than CTS/STS/SRX/LS, like Escalade sounds good. Any suggestions ?

There is a small error in this article: the official statement speaks of "more than 507 hp".....and not exactly 507 hp!

Hmmm. I have sat in both a Bentley Continental Flying Spur and a standard-sized Rolls-Royce Phantom. The RR had only slightly more headroom and legroom than the Bentley, and the Bentley performed better. This new Rolls will be smaller than the Phantom, thus its interior will be no bigger (or possibly smaller) than the Flying Spur, and it will still cost more than the Bentley.

That said, it will have the Rolls-Royce badge and "Flying Lady", and probably will have more ostentatious interior appointiments than the Flying Spur. It'll sell.

I can't comment on its performance because the car hasn't been rolled out yet. It'll be interesting to see if it can keep up with the Flying Spur.
