You know what one of the worst things about BMW product launches are?

The press release.

Though I understand the company wants to inform the press and general buying public of its latest and greatest hardware, it seems all-too-often that it loves overdoing it for information's sake. I guess one could say they're being "German."

So when the i3 made its way to the 2012 Los Angeles Motor Show, I wasn't surprised to see it was more of the same.

Thankfully, BMW wisely produced this two-minute clip that gets all of the important information out of the way. I could do without the absurd voiceover but, hey, beggars can't be choosers.


The BMW i3 Concept Coupé is a study for sustainable premium-class motoring with zero local emissions. Beyond this, the three-door model employs the design idiom that has been created especially for the BMW i cars to convey an undeniable sense of dynamism and driving pleasure.

The BMW i3 Concept Coupé shows the ongoing development process for getting the first ever all-electric model from the BMW i brand ready for series production.
