As the accolades for the all-new 2015 BMW M3 and M4 pour in from all angles, it seems that for some there's only one real sticking point. The exhaust note.

While some have exclaimed the car's one of the best sounding, others have castigated it for having a "farty sound." I am somewhere in the middle because when the car is at idle it's not particularly lovely. BUT, neither is a Ferrari F430. That said, if I were to be snapping up a new M3 or M4 in the near-term future, I would definitely start thinking about an exhaust as one of my first mods.

The problem arises though: Which? Akrapovic wasn't a name I was familiar with until the past two to three years. From just about everyone I've spoken to the quality is just as good as OEM; however, you will have to donate your kidney to fund for it. If you want the best of the best though, this is where you go.

So when new video debuted of the M4 equipped with one I wanted to shoot it past the Spies and see if it bettered the car's exhaust note, or if it doesn't do it for you.

**Compare the aftermarket exhaust to the stock car by listening to what I heard at Road America!

Weigh in, Spies!
