In the past two years, I've been pretty straightforward: I actually like what Consumer Reports has saying about the automotive market. Though they're best known in the auto space as evaluating cars like a dish washer, it seemed that it had finally come around.

I may be second guessing that sentiment now.

This is because the past couple of videos I've seen from the storied reviewer have been pretty off the mark. The latest in the CR arsenal is a clip called "best affordable used cars." Remember, we're talking about affordability being the key here.

I wonder if any of you can do better than their picks...

The following are the winners:

- 2010-2012 Honda Accord (four-cylinder)
- 2005-2011 Honda CR-V
- 2005-2009 Toyota Highlander
- 2010-2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid
- 2010-2012 Toyota Prius

These used cars scored well at the Consumer Reports test track when they were new and have proved reliable. And they're reasonably priced.
