VIDEO: Mitsubishi EVO X
There's only one reason why the 2008 Mitsubishi Evolution X would be driving around the high desert of Southern California and it has nothing to do with cold medicine. It's called the Streets of Willow road course and it's one of the best strips of pavement around for wringing out small cars with powerful engines. And after watching Mitsubishi's engineers take in Palmdale's finest cuisine and posh motels, our spy shooters followed them to Willow Springs to catch the Lancer Evo X in action.

Nope... This is he car without any kind of every day driveability! Sure, if you want a car that is ONLY good as a track car, this car is the one to get, but if you want a well equipped car that happens to be fun to drive, you buy a BMW! I (and probably everybody else but you on this forum) would choose an M3 over this any day! Hell, I'd choose a 320i, an A4 2.0FSI, a C230 or an IS250 over an Evo as my only car any day!
The EVO is only good at one thing, a BMW is a jack-of-all-trades! It is a Swiss Army knife... It might not be the best at anything particular, but it is the best compromise... The EVO is a katana it's damn sharp, but not very useful in the every day use!

^Prove it^
I would like to see the statistics that shows how much longer a BMW spends in the shop! Why don't you try looking up the service intervals of the two (well the average service interval in case of the BMW)... But ofcause since you will probably only do 1/3 the mileage of the BMW in the EVO in a year because of the appaling everyday driveability that kind of makes up for the short service intervals!

LOL... You really should read ALL the text instead of just looking at the fancy graphs... Directly from the page you linked to:
"Brands with the fewest defects and malfunctions include BMW, Chrysler, Hyundai, Lexus, Porsche and Toyota. Brands with the fewest design problems include GMC, Hyundai, Jaguar, Lexus, Nissan and Porsche."
Another one:
"For example, BMW vehicles have among the fewest defects and malfunctions, along with Toyota. But BMW approaches controls and displays in a way that creates some problems for customers, leading to more design-related problems overall than Toyota incurs"
So BMW is actually among the ones with the fewest problems when it comes to defects. Their problem is with quality... Hardly anything that will cost you time in the shop...
BTW: I didn't see Mitsubishi mentioned in the article as one of the companies with the fewest malfunctions... But you forgot that we were talking about Mitsubishi vs. BMW here, right?
Try again... Where does it say that a BMW spends more time in the shop?

Some people just exaggerate this whole BMW = shop time a little too much. Yes BMW in general has slightly unimpressive reliability compared to other makes, but that's of no major concern to us BMW owners. A little time in the shop is a minute sacrifice we are willing to take in return for highly fun-to-drive and great-looking vehicles.

Has anyone know why Mitsubishi has not a competitor the BMW M3, Lexus IS-F, Audi RS4 and the MB C-class AMG? This new Evo is very nice, aggressive, sporty and of course it has outstanding performance as well.

The reason why it is not a competitor to the BMW, Audi, and Lexus is because it will cost at least $25k less than those cars and also be much more performance orientated.

Please don't make stupid comment by comparing the M division to the Mitsubishi Evo. The BMW M division is good but nowhere near the performance of the Evo.
The racing history of Mitsubishi speak for itself. Imagine if you put 400 hp on this baby, it will spank the BMW M3, RS4 and MB AMG for sure. And the funny thing about it, it only a ricer right? right;) he...he...he...ha...ha.

You forgot your beloved IS-F... But that would be no fun, would it?
Please don't make stupid comment by comparing the Mitsubishi Evo to the M division. The Evo is good, but nowhere near the BMW M division cars!
The Evo is just a silly toy that no one can use for anything but drive around a track. The M cars are all luxurious cars that happens to drive amazingly well! Sure, if all you do is zoom around a track, the EVO is the car to have, but 99.999% of the earths population would not choose the EVO as their only car over the M3, and the remaining 0.001% are just to hard headed to admit that they wouldn't choose the EVO because they have pledged their allegience to some strange BMW-hating cult! The only reason why the EVO even exists is because of it's low price compared to the more prestigeous brands...
Have you even driven an EVO? I drove an EVO VII in Sweden as a part of a driving course I took. It was hugely fun playing Sebastian Loeb for a day, but even though the car was box standard, it was just so incredibly uncomfortable every time I had to drive it normally. It is HORRID!

Stop dreaming Thesailor and make stupid comment, what racing history does the M division? the Mitshubishi racing history is well known throughout the World. Even the Porsche brand has a hard time with the Evo, what make you think the M division has any chance?
Secondly, BMW is not the German number #1 brand anymore. That title belong to Audi now, the RS4 is quicker than the BMW M3. The Audi R8 is faster than any cars BMW has. I'm just stating the fact. If the BMW M3 is having a hard time keeping up with the RS4; imagine what the RS5 do to it.

LOL... whatever... If you think Mitsubishi has more racing history than BMW, a company renowned for it's motorsport division, you are too stupid for me to waste my time on!
Also, the RS4 is quicker than the old M3! But yes, I think the RS5 will be the best once it comes out... I two or three years... But until then, you can be pretty darn sure the M3 will be king of the hill in the segment (bringing a mid-engined super car into the equation just to win an argument just shows your level of ignorance!)...
Ohh... And another thing: BMW is still number one! They are still the worlds largest premium auto maker in the world...
Anyway... Come back when you have some proper arguments and have learned how to spell!
