Once the GT-R appears, you know how much you wasted buying an RS4, or even worse, R8.

GT-R is not an IS-F competitor. In your books it seems like the IS-F competes with every single car in the world. IT DOESN'T!

your right, the is-f doesn't compete with, it destroys everything else on the planet. goodbye ferrari. goodbye rolls royce.

FYI - the target for the GT-R is the porsche 911 turbo. It always has been sold in Japan as a being better then a porsche. So far the GT-R has only been a part of folklore in the U.S. and it would be fantastic to see if it actually lived up to its reputation.

There's no way the GT-R is in the same league as the EVO or STI! The GT-R is a 500 hp supercar, the EVO and STI are 300 hp factory tuners.

stl- he didnt say they are in the same league, he said that the target for the GT-r is the evo and sti "CROWD". And he's right, no one shopping for a porsche is going to look at a Nissan, thats not saying its a bad car, its just not a porsche.

Porsche and the GT-R is in two different segments. Nissan vs Porsche. Just doesn't sound right. The GT-R is looking good but I wouldn't come down to choosing whether I want a Nissan or a Porsche no matter how good the Nissan is. I like the Porsche heritage better. However that GT-R is a beast!

Just on styling alone is reason enough for me to never own that Nissan.

Get the Porsche, of course unless you can't afford one ;)

This car is beautiful, I hope just hope they won't change it as they did with the G37. The G37's front by the way is odd if you stand before it.

The GTR isn't a looker to me. The engine seems great although on the video it was always BEHIND the Porsche.

From my understanding, The Nissan GTR has never really competed against Porsche in international racing. It has always been the M3 GT's versus the Porsche 911 RSR's (non-turbo.

It would have been nice to see a series that carried on thru-out the many years of 911 development versus the the Nissan GT R development. That way we can see if the the GT-R is truly a 911 TT competitor or not.

Why isn't anyone complaining about the fenders on the Skyline because they are the same style as the ones on the Lexus IS-F!!!

I believe the Skyline concept was created before the IS-F was even thought of. :) so it's more like the IS-F fenders styling is the same as the GT-R

I'm sure alot of people are pleased that the GTR will be sold as a Nissan and not an Infinity but this will keep the GTR from actually competing directly with the Porsche. As a Nissan no current Porsche owner will think of buying a Nissan but if it were sold as an Infinity different story. Plus this car would really help build Infinity's name.Without a true sports car in their lineup Infinity will hurt in the future. Though i do believ this car will be able to take on Porsche in every aspect of performance but once again no Porsche owner will go buy a Nissan. In this field the name of the brand plays too huge of a role.

I think most of you would be suprised that not all members of Porsche Owners' Clubs are not biased for Porsche cars. Most of them respect other makes and will probably not belittle the GT-R at all. I am sure there will be a handful of owners who probably have put deposits down for the car.

This is a Porsche owner that I know who loves his Porsche but knows a good car when he sees one: http://www.maxige.com/video.html
and this other site http://www.997gt3.com/pag1ser.htm and how about the profiles: http://www.997gt3.com/bio.htm as well.

Yes there probably will be a Porsche owner who will go buy the GTR but not too many of them to hurt Porsche sales. Plus i still think that this car is better suited as an Infinity and it would help the brand so much more.

Think of this comparison...

Two high horsepower, twin turbo six cylinder engines, all wheel drive, and most likely 6 speed transmissions. I cannot account for the testing weight for the GTR though. Think younglings, think!

Ok here is my imput.. When I was a small boy I saw a 911 drive by and it got all my attention. Now when I decide I can afford a sports car. So if I can afford a 911 or the Nissan I amn going to have the 911. Why because I grew up seeing that car. I have wanted one off and on thru the years. So in my minds eye, if I can afford both these cars, and they are the same money or close to it, I will get the 911 because its what I dreamed about, not the Nissan.

3/4 thru the video it shows the 911 go thru a corner. Its in control and even looks like its picking up speed. The car just eats the corner. The Nissan looks like its at its limits, its slowing down and doesn't look in control. Not saying its not going fast just saying watching the two car go thru the corner it looks like the 911 is in more control and going faster.

Personally, I think the current Z06 will eat them both
for less $$. Cant wait for mag reviews to show just
that.

Not impressed. In my opinion the car is ugly, with angular lines. Any Poreche, besides the cayman and boxtser, looks way better. Plus they show the most expensive Nissan chasing the cheapest 911, and I never see it catch it or pass it. All you tools who like fast and the furious and dream of driving the car from the latest one, have fun, I'll save my money and wait a while and get a Porsche.
